APPRENTICE MAGE

"GRUMPY YET LOVEABLE"
Origins - Windweaver grew up in a clan of ice farmers that sold magically enchanted ice to clans that had none in their region. Because of this, he gained quite an appreciation for the beauty of ice, and was dazzled when he watched the ice enchanters work their magic. However, his clan would not let him become an ice enchanter, as it was a sacred duty that only few were allowed to perform, and with years of dedication and practice.

And then, along came Noble with his apprentice Maki, two mages with power unlike any ice enchanting spell he was used to. This, he told himself, was real magic. He changed his mind right then and there, and decided that he wanted to be a mage, just like Noble. It did not take much to convince his mother to let him leave with Noble and Maki once they were done with their stay in his clan, but it did take a fair bit of sweet talk from both him and Maki to convince Noble to take a second apprentice.

See, Maki was lonely during her travels with Noble, longing for a friend, and latched onto Windweaver the second she met him. He spent a good while with them before settling down with Noble and Maki in the Clan of Magic Roses, where he continues his mage apprenticeship.

Personality - Despite being best friends with Maki, he is almost her polar opposite in every way. Windweaver is grumpy most of the time, snappy, and very sarcastic, prone to frequent eye-rolling. He speaks in a monotone, except on the rare occasion that he cracks a terrible ice pun, just to be annoying. He loves the color blue, and doesn't sleep well unless he's curled up in his favorite blue blanket. And, though Windweaver would never admit it to anyone, he is gay and finds Cloude quite cute.

Relationships - Windweaver and Maki are best friends, even if it may not seem like that at first. Maki is energetic and optimistic, while Windweaver is cynical and snarky, but they have many things in common, and they frequently bond over magic and learning new spells together. Windweaver admires Noble as a role model, and looks up to him as somebody he'd like to be like one day. Windweaver reluctantly hangs out with Maki's other female friends, and while he is friends with Cloude, he'd never confess his crush to him.

Clan Role - As an apprentice, Windweaver is only learning, but he learns fast. Every day he gets a lesson from Noble, most of which are taught alongside Maki's lesson. Noble is passing along his extensive knowledge of Ice magic to Windweaver. When he isn't learning, he's practicing, or helping out in the clan with daily chores. Occasionally, he and Maki are part of the border patrol, defending the clan from Beastclans and putting their magic to good use.

Magic - Windweaver specializes in Ice magic, devoting all of his learning to that specific element and attempting to become a master of it. Although he does admire Noble, he is not so ambitious as to attempt to master all eleven elements.
