C R E S S A L I A
MECHANIC ”COLD COLORS, WARM HEART”
Origins - Cressalia grew up in a clan where she was an outsider. Her parents, both Ice mages, expected her to be like them and learn magic, but she had no interest in doing so. Her tinkering was frowned upon and magical studies were forced upon her. Additionally, she had been born with an unusually thin coating of feathers, which made survival in the frigid Fortress of Ends near impossible, and she was seen as weak. The clan was about to exalt her, when Archad heard about her exaltion during a business trip and adopted her.
Cressalia's story bears many parallels with Archad's beginnings, and that is perhaps why he chose to take her under his wing, as Dreame had once done for him. To thank Archad for rescuing her from exaltion, she crafted for him a pair of mechanical wings, showing her gratitude and her impeccable engineering skills. Since that day, she has filled the role of the clan's lead mechanic, building and fixing things with the help of her apprentices. She has three apprentices, Sombra, Angelo, and Valerie. When she's not managing them she works on her own prrojects. This has led to the creation of Yosei, a learning AI contained inside a highly advanced robotic dragon. Sombra helped with the design. Personality - Cressalia, though she acts mature most of the time, is actually still quite young. She's a bit of a dork, and very much an introvert, preferring to work by herself than with a group. It was only through intense persuading that Archad was able to convince Cresssalia to take Sombra as an apprentice, let alone eventually two others, but Cressalia has grown to love having them around in her workshop. She's a good dragon with a good heart, and she never hesitates to help those in need. Relationships - Cressalia is like the daughter Archad never had, and he takes care of her like a father. Cressalia is also on good relations with all three of her apprentices. She and Sombra did not always get along, but they have since put aside their differences and discovered that they have a lot to offer one another. Cressalia has a small crush on Angelo, but he has no romantic interest in anyone. Valerie, with her enthusiastic nature, acts like Cressalia's little sister and looks up to her. Yosei, while he is still learning emotions, is very protective of Cressalia's safety, almost like an older brother. Clan Role - Cressalia keeps busy, between fixing things, helping the clan run more smoothly, tinkering, building complex projects, teaching and overseeing her apprentices, and teaching Yosei and helping him properly develop as an AI. Magic - Cressalia has basic knowledge of Ice magic, but she doesn't use it often, preferring to work in her own form of "magic". Using magic reminds her of her parents, which she tries to forget as often as possible. Sombra has tried to convince her that technology and magic can be interchangeable, but Cressalia is yet to be convinced. |
