SORCERESS ”SHADOW AND SUN COLLIDES UPON HER SKIN”
Origins - When Jiku was born, a wave of power shot out across Sornieth, and according to legend, the impact was felt even by the deities themselves. When the priestess raised her to the eclipsed sky, still wailing, a hatchling newly born, she said something that Jiku and her family would never forget.
"Magic traces its way through her veins as surely as it traces its marks upon her skin. She is destined to have power roll off her in waves" But even a priestess of the Lightweaver could not truly see the power she possessed. Born during an eclipse, on the border between the Light and Shadow territories, Jiku was the first dragon ever to have two elemental allegiances. One eye was a shadowy purple, the other glowed gold. Her scales were dusky and smoky, but cracks of brilliant light still shone through. She could cast full spells of both elements with almost no training whatsoever, and she was destined for a life of greatness. She became a legend amongst the dragons of Light and Shadow, with some stories claiming that the Shadowbinder and Lightweaver both showed up to bless the baby upon birth. She could’ve claimed ultimate power, but instead she had a far more interesting life. When she was old enough, she joined a carnival and worked as an acrobat, a juggler, and a fortune teller. Her prophecies became so popular that she became an oracle for a short period, before realizing that the life wasn’t for her and instead followed in her aunt’s footsteps and became a priestess of the Lightweaver. There, she met a troubled dragon named Lapiza, who helped her realize that she was much more into shadowy tricks than ancient history, and became a thief who operated out of the Tangled Wood. Doing all of this earned her a nice sum of money, which she used to settle down in a nice, quiet clan where no one would know of her great prophesied power. There, she reconnected with Lapiza, and has turned her attention to testing just how powerful she really is... Personality - Jiku is, quite simply, an absolute ******. She handles situations with grace and poise, and emits a cool, soothing vibe that just makes other dragons want to be her friend. She stands up for the weak, and doesn't let anybody take advantage of her. She is a strong, independent dragon with skills she barely had to work for. She is a bit arrogant, and thinks herself above more "common" mages like Noble, but ultimately has a good heart and is willing to humor the other magic-users by showing off once in a while and teaching the apprentices some new spells. Relationships - Jiku is pretty good friends with Lapiza, as they share a past together, but Lapiza is often uncomfortable with Jiku's frequent and nonchalant mixing of Light and Shadow magic, as she feels it is an insult to the Lightweaver's pure magic. Jiku has many admirers, being a beautiful and desirable dragon, but the mate she has chosen is Starshade, for their shared interest in the mixing of magic, and his fascination with love spells that may or may not have anything to do with it. Noble, despite this, has a bit of a crush on Jiku, and gets sad when she doesn't notice him. As for the other mages, Windweaver is quite unimpressed with her magic, writing it off as being “all for show”. Maki, however, is Jiku’s biggest fan, and likes to follow her around, asking questions about her life and wishing for more stories to be told, which Jiku happily tells, as long as Maki is polite about it. Then, there’s Void. Jiku created Void when an unfortunate experiment went wrong, trapping a rift between light and darkness inside this unfortunate Fae and transforming her into this vessel of the void. This left Void forever changed. She is obedient to Jiku, and acts as her assistant, but something is always nagging at her, telling her she should resent this dragon. However, she can’t remember.
