Biography
Once a great and powerful king, Gilgamesh was a legendary hero, revered throughout the land. He had a beautiful mate, and a large kingdom in the scarred wastelands. But he was also arrogant, and that was his downfall. One day, he challenged the Shadowbinder to a game of cards, and he beat her. The Shadowbinder, enraged that she could be bested by a mortal dragon, banished Gilgamesh to the Starfall Isles and stripped him of his plague magic, forcing him to only be able to cast shadow magic for the rest of his days.
His mate, Cassiopeia, eventually found him, after searching to the ends of sornieth. Their reunion was a happy one, but, unfortunately, she was only a ghost, brought back to life by a gracious shadow spirit who now served as her guardian. The two live together happy, two dragons cursed by the shadows.
They have also adopted a daughter, Nymphadora, who suffers from extremely low self-esteem despite their best efforts to spoil and pamper her.
As a result of spoiling Nymphadora, Gilgamesh often neglects or even forgets about his biological son. As a result, his son has turned to other dragons for father figures. (To be determined who those “other dragons” are.
Cassiopeia still loves her son dearly, however, and encourages him that his father will notice his great accomplishments in time. The son is a skilled self-taught mage. The son resents Nymphadora for doing so little that is noteworthy yet receiving so much attention.
