B I O G R A P H Y

The first of her clan, Brekke is viewed somewhat as a Queen and a Mother among her people. Initially, she served strictly as a guardian of the clan's borders, and her ferocity and protectiveness was quite well known. Eventually, she tired of her post and resigned, passing the position to a more youthful dragon with the fervor required. She adventured shortly after, seeing the sights she'd always dreamed of. She even dared venture to Stormcatcher while escorting the newly exalted. She lingered only briefly before returning to her people. She retired to her gardens, spending much of her time surrounded by nature and nymphs as she now serves as the clan's leading matriarch.

Brekke has gone through several metamorphosis in her time with the clan, and one should be far from assuming she is finished. A willing participant to Luthien's schemes and experimentation, she is one of his only subjects to return and drink the strange phials he hands her or read from a mysterious scroll he gives her. The changes have left her unspeakably altered, but such is her devotion to Luthien that she would do anything he asks. After a time, she became less interested in being his mate more than his partner, and simply allowed him his solitary existence, heeding his advice when offered and treasuring her silent moments at his side.

She is a placid dragon, for the most part; however, one should not seek to test the patience of The Mother where her clan is concerned. She rules with an unforgiving benevolence that has at times both benefited and injured the clan, but luckily she learns from her mistakes. She aims to give the dragons she rules what they need, and often times will state that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. When it is beneficial to do so, she has been known to turn her head to questionable actions or decisions if it is to the good of the majority. She has many advisors and emissaries, though her most trusted are Kaspian and Ziva -- they are those who have not swayed or faltered in their loyalty, faithful of her ability and conscious.
