Blooms of light unfurled from her claws, drifting on an unseen wind to grace the petals surrounding them with the warmth of the golden glow. Each petal unfurled to embrace the warmth the magic provided, and as the dragoness’ light footsteps brushed the ground, each bloom strained to meet her. The roses would lend their ears, ripen in her touch, and sway with the moods that gripped her each day when she arose. Other dragons frequented the grounds, and Helios was not shy to stumbling upon pairs that walked through her gardens, or the occasional loner taking a moment to truly smell the roses. She was almost always met with the hushed sounds of disbelief, wondering how anyone could raise such picky flowers, and never have a single one wilt? She tells them, folding one pair of wings down, splaying out the others – she listens to their needs. Every flower on every bush is an individual, she explains, nearly preening as the dragons listen with rapt attention, almost going as far as to take notes. They vigorously nod, thanking her for the time, thanking her for the garden, as they pick their way out of the maze of blooms. She settles back in among the petals, leaning in close to catch the whispering from a particularly gossipy bushel, giggling at the news that she hears. She turns to another plant, smelling something sour upon the wind. Her wings fold in close to her body, and she turns her head to gently nose at the culprit. She breathes sweet nothings against it’s bud, coaxing it to open up for her, and the warmth that she provides. Her magic restores the vitality, the small orb of molten sunlight cozying up to the flower, to give it what it needs. Written by GrimLegate
