Dream was born to a mated pair in the Lightning Farm, a region of Lightning territory. She was one of many children. Most were different ages, since they had many clutches. Dream, always the antisocial one, knew that was not for her and soon ran away.

She stumbled into Plague territory, where she got in a scuffle with some unsavory mirror dragons. She barely made it out alive. A wandering imperial found her and saved her, only to later reveal he wanted something in return. He was the leader of a band of assassins. He agreed to train Dream to be one of them, as long as she did everything he said and paid him back whatever treasure he spent on her.

And so Dream became a feared assassin. She was always for hire, although occasional requests would come from within the band. Soon the leader commanded her to kill an imperial by the name of Medusa who had taken away much of his former glory.

She reached the clan without any trouble, but finding Medusa was the tricky part. However, before she could stealthily do it, a wildclaw named Emprince found her and offered her shelter, seeing she was rather malnourished. She agreed, figuring it a way to get closer.

But it was not to be. Unwittingly, Dream fell in love with two things; the first was the thought of living with this clan. The second was Emprince himself. Apparently he loved her too, and asked her to become his mate. She accepted. The two lived peacefully near the center of the clan, no one ever learning Dream was an assassin. She even met Medusa but didn't kill him.

Soon the two had eggs, one of each respective species. Dream spent her time watching over them, while Emprince hunted and gathered food, as well as cleaned up the house for the hatchlings. However, when cleaning, he found papers that contained Dream's orders to kill Medusa. So he discovered her as an assassin. Afraid that he'd been played the whole time, he confronted Dream and announced he would no longer be her mate, fearing she was still an assassin and might kill anyone. Heartbroken, Dream fled to the edge of the clan, taking her eggs with her.

Strangely, Emprince never told anyone of her identity, perhaps still loving her enough to keep her safe. Away from her former mate, Dream became harsh and cruel again, rarely speaking and turning colder and colder. Emprince had been working to make her a bit more cheerful, but destroyed it all in his last act. Now Dream lives without a mate, taking care of her two hatchlings, who remind her of her true love every day.
