This hatchling has a curious, strong affinity with the natural world, animals in particular. He has exhibited a much stronger inclination to sit with a flock of birds, or attempt to imitate the noises of nearby ferrets, than to play with, or just generally be around, his siblings.

Animals seem to be drawn to him, as well. He has been found, on multiple occasions, to have some kind of critter near, or even on him, seemingly perfectly comfortable and unafraid of becoming potential prey. He can even, sometimes, convince them to remain still, relaxed, as he sketches and studies them; this skill appears to need training, as it usually only lasts a few, fleeting minutes.

Despite having an interest in all animals, he does have a few in particular he keeps around, most of which appear to be snakes; a dust slither, a red-tailed boa, and a ball python. The hatchling likes to let them drape and sun themselves over himself, as he draws their images on paper.
