Shadeswathe, son of ancient tyrants, has nobility in his blood. As the son of the tyrant king Moonlord and the estranged House Penumbra heir Harenae "Sandrunner" Penumbra, Shadeswathe was always weighed down by expectations of grand atrocities. His thoughts, feelings, and actions constantly compared against those of his parents. Yet from the outset, Shadeswathe has sought to take a different approach to life than the one he was taught. Strength of words rather than strength of claws or fangs. On the day of his ascension to power he sought out the gods, begging for a form that would better suit his formal and fair nature; thus he took the crown not as a towering guardian, but a pearlcatcher of similar stature to the clanmates he was to lead.

In life as much as in diplomacy, Shadeswathe is calm, thoughtful and cautious, though he is not especially kind. He'll extend as much generosity as is fair, but will not invest his time and resources if need does not demand it. He has been known to exploit the threatening nature of his lineage whenever trading partners are getting too demanding, well aware that even the subtlest challenge will be taken as more than mere empty words. He will only do this to defend the interests of his clan as a whole, particularly when supplies run short.
