Nothingness is the yet-to-be-born god of the world.

This is a sad day here in the world of shades
but even pain has its own beauty
even pain can perform a lovely face.
Blinding stream, double-edged,
in an extra-terrestrial gloom,
beautiful creation of steel
grown in my barren womb...
They way into the light will separate me from my flesh,
myriads in their birth-giving red
swimming forcefully through-out space.
This darkest space is wide
and the mountain is still so high,
fly up my black little eyes
and cross the frontiers that dare to define my life...
No space too vast and surely no place too far,
the groping sister feels that her eyes
must be somewhere alive.
So she is afraid of all the dwellers of the dark
in their blindness they will never understand
the tempting gift of sight.
This place is cold, blindly she can feel
the dead wind caressing the rocks
from high above they come way down,
these angels kissing our undead bodies to stone...

She was a dream, once.
She still remembers how it felt to be so free.
But she was chosen to become more than a dream, gifted a life to feel and know. Born into a creature that embodies beauty, grace and power.
Her awakening cut her away from her beloved dreams, and as she surveyed her new domain, she could not help but become frightened by its emptiness and disgusted by its lack of companionship and imagination. She wanted it all back - she wanted to dream again, if only to share her adventures in this strange new body.
She needed it back - she had to have it back, or perish from her craving. She searched and searched, experimenting with anything that might help, and even though she could not find what she was looking for, she soon learnt magic of the forgotten and old, and grew strong and exceedingly powerful.
She almost faded, but for one wish and one simple game – fate smiled upon her with an offer she could never refuse. She was guided through the mist to find someone just like her. Someone who could reach where she could not. As he was lost, she showed him the path to follow.
She captured and enslaved a dream just like her - a manifested dream who might as well be her brother. She could have loved him, aided him, sought him – but her own desires were too great, too pressing, burning and dancing too fiercely behind her dreamtime eyes, so she caged him, and sent him to sleep. His body was everything she needed. His blood, his feathers, the scales and the skin – she could turn them into the keys to her happiness. She would sacrifice him on her altar – just so that she could reunite with her long forgotten dreams.
Maab is no longer the same being that she was – her determination to reach her goals has corroded her very soul and twisted her into something entirely different. She now styles herself as the Queen of the Dreams, a being free to walk upon both worlds as she wishes, cursing all who wrong her with eternal sleep and never-ending torturous nightmares. Despite all her plans for Oneiroi, she still cares dearly for her victim. She is keeping his body healthy and safe while slowly consuming his very life, little by little.

Dance, my charge, dance,
For the night would come soon,
And I’d lift the veil from your face,
Kiss away your last breath.
It is now time to dream.
