She holds what is known among guardians as an 'abstract charge' - her mission is to protect the idea of home for the clan, rather than a physical object.
The oldest dragon in the lair, she moves slowly but not laboriously

Said to be descended from the Mother herself, Ichiko founded the lair and will always hold a special place as the undisputed ruler and guardian.

Her partner, Toshiharu, helped to found the clan by crafting devices that allowed for the fledgling tribe to survive, but now he is more than happy to allow Ichiko full control over the clan's dealings, as it leaves him more time for his science. So, together with her family and a score of other dragons, she has managed to form a place where the clan doesn't need to remain stationary to have a home. The semi-nomadic clan has been on the move since its conception, pushing on towards the Wyrmwound and the hope of further glory.

A quiet yet foreboding and unshakable presence, Ichiko rarely speaks, but any who challenge her unspoken authority soon back down under her silent stare. Piercing eyes are all but hidden within a deep cowl, and the color of those eyes is a widely disputed topic among the other dragons due to her well-rounded nature. Under her massive wings, members of every Flight and walk of life are welcome to join the clan and thrive, even in such a harsh environment. This hodgepodge clan of creatures drawn together by the promise of refuge has proven powerful, and everybody the clan interacts with ends up being touched by the matriarch's kindness.

Ichiko's quiet nature is complemented by an Opheodrys Serthis, her familiar and close friend Nalia. This loud-mouthed, quick-witted companion emerged from a pile of rotting debris in the Wandering Contagion and claimed a place by the mighty dragon's side a mere three days after Ichiko established the lair. She has remained there ever since by virtue of pure stubbornness, serving as Ichiko's eyes and ears in places where the huge dragon will not fit. When the Beastclans rose up, Nalia made the decision to remain with the clan in less than a heartbeat, and has proved her loyalty too many times to count. Still, some question her true intention, but this has not deterred her from doing her job well. She is a regular presence in the clan, and well-liked among the younger dragons. Ichiko and Nalia makes for a vigilant, ever-present team - especially when helped by the complicated network of eyes-and-ears that Ichiko's subordinates have established.

Ichiko is responsible for coining the clan's traditional blessing, and she speaks it personally to every dragon who arrives or departs.
