Weird beyond borders

I always figured that something was different with me. I still don't understand why I wasn't sent away. I watched my sister, Aquanetta, nod with a proud and nervous smile and fly away out of Greatwyrm's Breach and to the Pillar. Alamier and Pisces didn't really seem to notice me at that point. Nobody did, honestly. I didn't quite care for them either, I guess. I never felt the pack instinct that I'm supposed to. I've never felt like fighting, ground I've never even liked the meat or seafood others tried shoving in my face when I was a hatchling. I never really wanted to eat anything, and since there's always a ground ton of plants hanging around I just eat those instead. There's always a way to trick the food counter! When I grew up and could fit in the apparel we had lying about, I just picked random things off the pile and stuck with it. Everyone has always given me weird looks. I never "fit in" with the rest of them enough. No one wants a spearmint and saffron mirror, and are probably glad that they don't see the goldenrod part of me. Hold on, can they actually know that stuff if it's just basic?
One day this gull just flew in and landed by me and didn't move. Apparently this kind of bird is good for sending messages, but I didn't see a grounding message with that bird. Couldn't hear one, or feel one, or taste one, or peripheral one, or any other of the senses that message. All I know is that it never leaves me, and I'm fine with that. I named it Kai, since it's a neutral name for ocean. Kai is actually how I made good friends with Amarante, the young silver Wildclaw, but that is for a later time.
