life was a game of survival of the fittest, and it was one that she knew all too well. The clan of tears were her family, but the mire was her home. There was nothing better than the feel of her claws gouging into the scales of her opponents, her teeth sinking into their throats and tearing. The battlefield was where she belonged. She thrived there. It was the air she breathed and the blood that pumped through her veins. What was more, the survival of her clan depended on her continued conquests and ability to obtain food. She had never once failed them.

It wasn’t all about food, either. She liked the battle for the challenge of it. The thrill of her heart racing at the thought that she might lose, that the next battle might just be her last. Every time so far, she had pulled through. Every time she had brought glory to her clan by placing their names on the leaderboards that spanned Sornieth. Battle wasn’t just a way of life for her. It was a competition; one that she excelled at.
