Typhoon was gliding through the dense forest of the Gladevines. The blue Coatl loved feeling the wind brush through her feathers and had always been more like a Wind dragon than a Nature one. Her white wings carried her higher than most other Nature dragons would dare to fly. She drifted through the clean white clouds decorating the sky until she heard someone yell her name from below.
She quickly flew downwards to meet the dragon that was calling for her. A bright pink dragoness was staring up at her. Pistachio was Typhoon's mother, and she did not like her habit of flying so carelessly. "Your cousin Frei came to visit! Now come down and greet him, Typhoon!" she called out. Typhoon descended further and landed beside her mother. They walked back to their clan. Frei hadn't been to the Gladevines for a visit since the previous spring, so Typhoon was excited to hear what kinds of adventures he had experienced.
The Coatl loved the stories her younger cousin would tell, except for the parts where he fought, but the Imperial always left out those parts when he told her stories. "Frei! How have you been?" Typhoon practically yelled at her cousin across the camp. "I've been great! I found a clan and joined it. You should come too, you'd love it!" he excitedly told her. "It's in Wind territory!". Her mother started to object, but Typhoon interrupted her by telling her brother that she would love to meet the clan he mentioned.
Typhoon and Frei started their journey to the Dandelion clan in wind territory. As they wandered through the Wispwillow Grove they heard an angry screeching behind them. As they turned, they saw an Arctic Hippalectryon stomping its hooves. Frei got into a fighting position, but Typhoon stopped him, not wanting to see a fight in front of her. She carefully inched closer to the wild animal, trying to calm it down. She extended one of her paws with a few dead insects as an offering to the creature. It stopped stomping and instead smelled the food the blue dragon was offering, before beginning to eat from her paw. Typhoon smiled and lifted her other paw to pet the animal before her. She turned around and smiled at her cousin, who was just staring at her and the Hippalectryon in disbelief. The group of three continued their walk towards the clan.
Once they finally got to the Dandelion clan, Frei led Typhoon into a den so they could ask the clan leaders if she would be able to stay. A brownish Skydancer and a beige Tundra were talking with each other but stopped when they saw the two dragons and the Hippalectryon enter. "Welcome back, Frei. Who did you bring back with you?" the Tundra spoke with a soft voice. "This is my cousin, Typhoon. She would like to join us." he explained. The Skydancer looked over at the Tundra with a skeptical gaze. "Well, we do need a new caretaker for the hatchlings..." the Tundra pondered. The Skydancer sighed and reluctantly agreed to let her stay if she behaved herself. Typhoon and Frei smiled at each other happily. Typhoon had found the perfect place for herself.
