Biography

____>singular baby, the sole target of his parent's hopes and ambitions
>they were hoping for a big, strong, leaderly type
>were disappointed in the runt of a son they got
>disappointed with the lack of colour, barring his blue eyes
>mother was cruel, verbally abusive, trying to raise him to be stronger
>father was cold, showing no love and pointing out every mistake his son made
>there was no room for fun, hobbies, or love and support, instead grew up isolated and alone
>upon reaching late adolescence, he decided it was time to leave and told his parents he was leaving for another faction

____>they cut all ties, even taking away his name and telling him to find his own future
>in the end, he went with the most common thing he was called; 'Grub', like that of a worthless insect
>Grub would show them. He would show all if them.
>He ended up finding Ibis while still young, too young to be on his own; she had just adopted Noct, as well, and raised them together
>Grub grew up into a strong, young male and views Ibis as his only real parentage; he is endlessly loyal to her
>He was given his own familiar as a way to keep him safe and out of trouble and has been with him for a long time now and acts as a stand in guardian when the youth is alone

Prsonality

____>stubborn, bad at taking orders or being told what to do
-this is in part due to how monitored and restricted his childhood was, so after experiencing such new freedoms, he is not willing to let it go so easily
-the bad part is that this comes out as mutinous behaviour sometimes and can cause problems with his superiors and elders
>loner, he seldom spends his time with many other than Cloud, his adoptive brother, and his familiar
>due to his antisocial upbringing, he does not know well how to be around others and tends to miss social cues or not realise how/why he has offended someone
>very intimidating, Grub unintentionally scares people off with his dark appearance and piercing blue eyes
-this could be due to how he was treated as a child and how oftentimes the only way to not be harassed was to scare away those whom would harm him if given the chance
>unintentionally mean, he has a sharp tongue to match his intimidating appearance and has a problem with short spouts of anger and lashing out at others when they have done nothing to wrong him
>emotionally stunted, he does not know how to deal with the things he feels and thinks so he tends to only ever show one emotion around others; anger

Personality

____>love and care are borderline foreign concepts to Grub and he does not know how to properly express them, and as such does not understand what it means to have feelings for another
>If/when he finds someone he fancies as a mate, Grub is far more likely to act like that of a child and treat them badly or shove them in the playground, so to speak, because being 'mean' is all they really have been taught
>they are FIERCELY loyal, though, and would give their life to protect those they care about (being Ibis and Noct) and can come across as a scary big brother type for the shy, much more friendly dragon
>Ibis is the only adult he has ever respected and would do whatever she wished of him
>unintentionally he is also very disrespectful of those around him, coming off as a troubled youth or a young ******* to others
>he does enjoy his solitude, though, and loves walks through the land he has found himself living in now
>Grub does get into trouble often, though, and puts himself into danger more often than he is willing to admit
-his familiar is always at his side, though, and is able to often pull him out of situations using his wisdom and strength, despite lacking a way to verbally communicate
