Micolash

Thinks he's sneaky.

"They can't catch what they can't see."

It was The nameless dragons understanding that he would receive a name from the clan that was to adopt him. While his parents were indeed kind, and loving-even if his father was somewhat awkward and distant at times, they wanted him to make his name for himself when he was of age. And so when he was old enough to do so, taking with him an invisibility cloak, being self conscious about his multi-gaze eyes, and nervous that clans would avoid him for being somewhat strange. He met Lilly, eyeing wanted posts. She was scurrying about asking questions and looking for resources about the shade. And she was bloody adorable. Curious as to why he felt such a pull towards her, he took to following the little fae home to greet and anxious and concerned male fae of similar colouration. For a moment, he worried that the cute little female had a mate already. If this pull was attraction he'd been hoping to ask her out. In the end he just could not for the life of him figure out what it was that drew him to her. While the idea that perhaps he'd found love was an amazing thought, he wasn't so sure that was it. Then again, what did he really know? He'd never been in love, so he wasn't sure how it would feel. So when he saw an ad for the very clan that Lilly was in seeking a new member, he jumped. It was the perfect opportunity to try to get to know her and find out why he'd felt such a pull. So answering the ad, he received a reply dictating they were interested to meet him.

Still self conscious abut his multigaze however, he settled on showing up with his invisibility cloak beneath some other apparel, to an unhappy looking Lilly. "Stalkerrrrrr." was her only comment before darting back into the lair. Soooo she knew he'd followed her. Great first impression. Unsure of what to do next, he stood awkwardly at the entrance for a long moment before a rather fancy looking coatl came around, nodding at him and waved him in, and directed him to a large, area with lost of soft furs and cushions that made for a very comfortable sitting area. Taking a seat he soon met with the dark coloured fae he'd seen before, whom he learned was named Pine, and the second eldest leader of the clan. And after a brief interview, he learned that this was a clan of warriors. There was to be no slacking off here, everyone was expected to pull their weight, and Robin-their leader would punish those who slacked off. After further prying and showing interest in staying, he also learned that said leader was a wanted criminal back home, and as such, everyone in the lair was expected to learn how to at the least defend themselves for Robins piece of mind, and that the others here were somewhat leery of newcomers after a "terrible private incident" where the heads children were seriously injured. Finally the question he'd been waiting for; why did he wear his invisibility cloak.

He thought for a long moment about making some kind of excuse but Pine had been incredibly honest with him, and he felt like it would be wrong not to do the same. He explained to the tiny male how he was self-conscious about his eyes. And when Pine laughed, he found himself curling in on himself awkwardly. The next, and more awkward question, was of course; would a mask not be good enough? No... no it would not. Pine, it seemed, had never met a dragon with multigaze, and so was amazed when he lifted his invisibility cloak, thinking it easier to show than to explain. With that the little fae seemed to ease off some of his own tension, and said that he was more than welcome to stay the night and see how he felt, pointing to a scar across his face, and making a joke that if only he'd had that affliction he'd have been able to dodge that scratch, or at least still be able to see completely. A joke that had the young wildclaw too relaxing a little. He could stay. How exciting, he could stay!

Pine had informed the head male and female when they'd gotten home of the young wildclaws "Name predicament" Which Robin thought of as a bit odd, but Fern knew was a fairly standard practice in some lairs. Children were given nicknames that were by their appearance until they were old enough to go out and figure one out for themselves, or to go out and find a clan that would give them a name so that they mixed in with their new peers a bit easier. So Robin called a meeting to talk about what his name would be and so that he could meet all the lair members properly. So meeting Robin and Fern for the first time among the other warriors of the clan on his firt day was nothing short of terrifying.

Robin herself was welltoned, large and while she held the wild, vicious look most mirrors possess by nature, she looked to him incredibly regal in her silks and paint. A real leader type, he thought, it was hard to imagine her as a criminal and part of him wondered what she had done to be banished from the light flights domain by her former family.

Fern to him stood out too and he picked him out easily, though he got the distinct feeling that he only saw the fae because he wanted to be seen. Like Robin, the male was well toned, though thin and sleek. He was built to dart hide, and cut, unlike Robin who looked like she she could tear another dragon limb from limb with one claw, Fern gave the impression of someone who could kill you with a thousand tiny cuts before you even knew he was there.

Analia was... interesting in a way he couldn't quite discribe. Everything she wore was clean and white, even her feathers and scales looked glossy and meticulously taken care of. She was sleek and slender for a skydancer. Well developed back legs, and her colours were gorgeous. When she was introduced as the clans Mire Flier, and treasurer, he could hardly believe the first part. warned jokingly-or not, he couldn't tell, that if he got dirt on any of her things she'd have him skinned alive by morning and left to whatever buzzards found him with the most terrifyingly sweet smile he had ever seen. A true mystery to him was the idea of a dragon who didn't want to get dirty in the mire.

Next to be introduced was Shade, the coatl who had beckoned him inside to speak with Pine. A mute male that was found as a lost egg in the kelp beds. Interesting fellow, and formerly mute. Now he could hum a bit but that was it. Shade was the clans resident scientist in training. He loved playing in the cauldron, and was always very excitable when it came to making things.

After Shade, Infinity. The clans Ghostlight Trainer. Unlike Analia, Infinity looked his part. Though he had to admit that until it was explained that infinity had become a pearl catcher to be able to hold a crystal ball properly in combat, he couldn't really figure out why the male carried a glass ball and not a pearl.

Melody was the next to be introduced. Melody scared the hell out of him, and he had absolutely no idea why other than the fact that he felt like she-though she was far tinier than he-could and maybe would eat him. With a polite bow she told him she had a secret that she would tell him if he stayed in the clan for more than a month, and that she was very squeamish in a way that made her quite mean, so he should not come to her if he were to get injured unless it be a last resort, and to not try to help her if she gets hurt but rather to call some one with medical training.

With that the Medic Sophie was introduced, saying that Melody assisted her when there was not blood and that the head medic of the clan was out learning special arts and tricks from other medics. For now, if he was injured, she could apply first aid any do most simple medical procedures that coliseum clan members needed. Melody also noted that Sophie had a very sweet singing voice, and if he was feeling scared or stressed to ask her to sing him a song.

Next to be introduced were the clan heads three children. Lilly, Pine, and Iris. He perked up when he heard Lillys name for the first time properly, and he was told of how their aunt had come to their clan to treat Melody, and due to a rumour that got out of hand had tried to dissect Iris, leading to a very violent accident that had left all three with a few scars. He was warned that because of the incident messing with one sibling will mean that the other two will happily take a chunk out of his hide just for fun.

Robin said that they kind of had one more clan member named Belourne, but the imperial had apparently embarrassed himself somehow and was refusing to come out. He was young and new, and they were at this point, unsure of what to do with him.

Introductions over, Robin asked him what had inspired him to join their tiny clan and what he wanted to achieve in his future. Perhaps they could find a name for him based off that? He was however, unsure of what his plans were, and he told his new potential clanmates awkwardly that he had joined the clan because he needed to strike out on his own, and that for some reason he had been drawn towards Lilly, though he couldn't figure out why.

Finally as contemplations towards how to come up with a name for him wore on, Lilly shouted "I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING IF I CAN'T SEE YOU STRIP." which grounded the whole talk to a screeching halt for half the lair to give the female an odd look. Pine had told the lair members how he was self-conscious about his multigaze, and he shifted about uncomfortably, trying to think of a way to wiggle out of the situation. One by one each one agreed. If he wanted a name it would be hard to give without putting a face to it. And so he quietly, and awkwardly removed his cloak.

He wasn't sure what he had expected when he removed his invisibility cloak, but looks of wonder and curiosity was certainly not it. "Micolash." Fern quipped, not thinking anyone would take it seriously, but when he heard his name for the first time it really felt as though it clicked. Pine grinned, amused, and approving of the name, and Infinity agreed. With o one else coming up with any other ideas or really anything that sounded better, it was settled. Micolash finally had a name.

Not long after the meeting, Robin told him that for safety and securitys sake, he was not to use the invisibility cloak inside the lair anymore. Really it was hard to argue any points, and she told Micolash outright, that she had no problems with him finding other means to cover his multi-gaze if he was really that uncomfortable walking around with it. So he rounded up the most body-covering apparel he could find and wore that instead. Unlike the single layer of the invisibility cloak that he had always had to protect himself with however, the apparel soon began to chafe at his many eyelids. Starting to feel trapped and anxious about the situation, he decided he would look for something lighter, and worked up the nerve to ask Lilly to help him shop for something. He still wanted to know her more, and figure out what this strange pull he felt towards her was. For that matter she was female, and to his understanding the average female had a better understanding of clothing than males. Win win right?

Asking Lilly to take him shopping he found out, was a mixed blessing and curse. NOTHING she picked out for him looked good with his colouration. Absolutely nothing. To the point where she got frustrated and very litterally bought a tri-clour scatter scroll and slapped him in the face with it. Mortified at the sudden randomization of his appearance, Micolash slipped into his invisibility cloak again before she could do anything else strange and hid. With his luk he was absolutely positive he'd be some terrible eye-burning mess. Except when Lilly pinpointed him via what he first assumed some unknown shadow magic, he later learned was literally just his tail sticking out, and basic tracking skills, and yanked his cloak off, it really wasn't bad. He'd gone from greens and blues to soft blues, purples and pinks that were far more cohearant than his original colours. Litterally perfect for the outfit she'd picked out for him.

Pleased, Lilly mused that she had a bit of an instinct on things that would come out in a good way, and she'd thought these things were perfect for him because they were. Period, end of story as far as she was concerned. Micolash himself wasn't particularly sure that he believed her but it had really worked out a little too well to be completely skeptical. In the end he had himself a nice new silken outfit that was far more comfortable and he could even see through the thin fabric and more or less hide his multi-gaze he was so nervous about showing.
