With only a glimpse of the Ridgeback, it's clear that he harbours a nasty attitude. The angular planes of his visage feature are schooled into a permanently blasé expression, indicating his distaste for his own clan-mates. In the rare instances that he can bring himself to speak, his words are clipped and cold. For good reason, Obelus maintains strict silence, bringing the common adage "if you can't say something nice" to mind.

Despite his belligerence, Obelus is an exemplary warrior. He is ruthless in battle and will utilize every skill he knows in order to win. Such combination of brains and brawn isn't uncommon, but the Ridgeback's lack of conscience elevates him to another level. His ethics differ greatly from those of his clan-mates, but nevertheless, he considers himself an honourable creature whose word can be trusted above all else.
