Opal was one of the first dragons to join the November Nightfall Sanctuary, long before it ever was the Sanctuary in the first place. Yet, even as a small group of dragons making the best of the frigid wilderness, the heart of the Sanctuary was always there. After a trio of plague dragons -- Spinel, Shale, and Beryl -- came to Opal's aid, and after these four were welcomed by Granite and Wolfsbane into their humble home, she became determined to offer the same sort of kindness and protection to whoever she could.
