Shadeborne was never meant to stay long with the clan. Menhir's winter home was simply a convenient stop on his journey deeper into Dragonhome, a place to rest and replenish supplies before continuing his research on the Shade. And yet, for reasons he doesn't fully understand, he stayed regardless. Perhaps it was Dewdrop who convinced him that research was best when shared with the world - or that it was worth teaching the others what he had learned. In any case, here he is months later, with an equally curious mate and a place in the clan: somewhere he belongs.

He had always been curious about the Shade, and the difference between its malign influence and true Shadow magic. While his old clan appreciated his diligence, and found some use for the methods he devised of combating Shade fragments, they urged him away from more dangerous experiments, and he struck out on his own, wandering Sornieith in search of answers. It's been years since he had a place to call home... and he is, he thinks, starting to like having one again.
