Biography
Thymus
Blind Perfumist
Master of Scents Sightless Born blind and with a delicate health, Thymus was a handful to his home clan as a hatchling. Born to a clan with only a handful of dragons, his parents could not afford to keep an eye on him constantly, and the little coatl could often be found stuck in places he should not have gotten himself into. Dismayed and resigned, his clan decided that a kinder fate would be to foster the hatchling to another clan, and sent him to the market where he could hopefully attract the interest of a passing clan. Scent Despite his blindness, as he grew older the coatl found that his other senses were useful in keeping him aware of his surroundings. Developing a strong sense of smell, he soon discovered a knack for telling scents apart and distinguishing subtle differences in the air. It was only a natural progression for him to start training as a perfume maker. Perfume Soon his renown grew as a master at the arts of perfumery, and he was invited by the queen herself to work for the Tempest Clan. The icy walls of the mountain create a sterile environment where Thymus doesn't need to concern himself with contamination from outside smells, and the cold itself is ideal to preserve his oils and plants. Finally the coatl had found a place for himself. The only limitation to his trade was the fact that the male was unable to procure his own herbs and materials for his craft. Sightless and flightless, a foraging expedition would be perilous at best, and no warrior wanted to be responsible for the welfare of the delicate coatl while out in the wilderness. So an assistant was procured for him, a trapper from the swamps ruled by the Gladekeeper. Fearless, Wisteria had no issues with his odd requests for herbs and flowers, and enjoyed the freedom of traveling all around Sornieth on her boss' orders. |
