Imperials are known for their love of knowledge but all he wished was to forget. Haemanthus was the scribe of war, the keeper of the ledger of Blood. a book that kept all the records of war for the Plague Flight. he was chosen when he was young and bright eyed, ready for anything; enlisted by the PlaugeBringer herself. he's sole purpose is to follow platoons into battle and stay alive. To look, listen and write what happens during battles and nothing more. many dragon names are written in this book, but many more are not. bodies too ragged to be identified, some bodies questioned to be dragon at all. many life stories go unwritten as they fight the war for dominance and too many more simply forgotten. the stress of trying to find every dragons story, to try to help the grieving, is a burden becoming to much to bare. his wings were not always stained with the color of blood, his eyes were not always haunted by the many deaths that fell before them.
the stress started to get to him, so the PlagueBringer gave him some time to breath, to get his head together. while passing through to get to another Plague clan, he found himself in this calm, accepting lair and chose to stay here, sending word to the other clan that he would not be arriving.
he chose this clan for its love and beauty, something that is opposite to his life. the flowers scent on the breeze and the reeds blowing in the wind help him forget for a moment...help the cries of the dead silence for a brief second. he fears the day when the PlagueBringer will call on him again...
