______ I
anto was afraid. She didn’t know what was going on, and she didn’t dare to stick her head out to find out. She could hear the yells, the sound of something hard hitting flesh. The soft red of fire flickered at the edge of her vision, a promise of destruction. She had done this, she had lead them here.

Unwittingly, perhaps, and only because of a familiar face had turned against her. The emotional wound was still fresh, but she could not focus on the pain while the fight was still going on.

She should join the fray, she knew. It was the least she could to to make up for her errors. Perhaps if they won, she would be forgiven, somewhat, for causing all of this. If they won…

She didn’t even know what forces they were fighting against!

Ianto stayed very still in her place of hiding, not daring to look back, even though the sounds of yelling and the clashing begged her to turn her head and investigate. She didn’t want to be a coward, but she was one. She didn’t want to die.

So when the battle ceased, she was the last to know that they - the clan- had won.

They found her cowering in the grass, and brought her before her clanmates. She continued to cower. What would they say to her? Would she be punished? But she knew, her worst fear was that they’d say nothing, that nothing would be done to address her cowardice, and her betrayal, however accidentally. That it would lay on her conscientiousness forever.

She ached for a friend, but it was her last one that had betrayed her.

What had they seen in the Beastclans, what had they seen in her clan, that caused them to side with the ursurpers to attack her and her clan? And the reward for that betrayal was for them to lie on the cold, hard ground, staring with unseeing eyes. Would that be her fate?

She couldn’t wait for them to decide, so she decided for them.

“I’ll go.” She murmured with her eyes fixed to the ground. “I’ll - take myself somewhere else.” Somewhere so she didn’t have to see these bodies, again and again.

She waited for someone to speak, but no one did. And when they finally spoke, it was unexpected.

“What do you mean, darling?” The voice was soft, quizzical, different to what she had imagined.

“It was my fault.” Her voice broke at that. All those bodies, just because she was a fool. “I- I’ll need to be punished.”

“No, silly child.” The voice was not malignant, not resentful of her. A Skydancer walked up from her spot to claim the soft call. Raya. That alone gave her pause. She had expected to be despised.

“You do not need to leave. You are still part of the clan.”

What? surely she heard wrong. Surely they hate her.

But the voice did not see it this way.

“We can rebuild. But we cannot lose you.”

A bubble of warmth crept up into Ianto’s heart.

Not all was well. The dead were still dead. Her heart was still broken. But perhaps, now, it could be mended.

“Really?”

“Yes"

Ianto
Venom, Pillar, Clan.
This is a rather unlucky combination. Pillar indicates a burden, Venom shows a betrayal, and Clan shows that the Beastclans will come into Ianto's paths. Her path seems to be successful at the end, but it ultimately resides in her faith.
