Bellatrix

The galaxies shook with the death of the star and grew darker with the vacancy of another light. And yet, the expected gaping maw of the abyss didn't follow, as it usually did when such an old star faded away.

Instead the event followed with the arrival of the Abyss Deity.

Sensing the loss of her dear friend, young Bellatrix filled with dejection. The loss of a wise, old star were always treated with deep sadness. She looked towards the place where the remnants of her friend would forever abide and was struck with a deep confusion. There where one would expect everlasting darkness, was instead a speck of soft, pulsing light. This anomaly was definitely a matter to explore. She sent out a call to the others to urge them to investigate this beacon in the dark and set out to follow the trail.

Her search made her chance upon a faraway planet, filled with various mortal creatures - one of which was the dragons. Knowing that no god could enter the mortal planes with their divine form, she decided to portray herself as one of them. That was how she was born into this world as a young Skydancer.

Not being able to conceal her full divine existence, her body jotted itself with many balls of light, which illuminated her night-dark skin. It was these same lights which allowed her to be adopted into a clan of the night (or shadow as this world called it). There she could sense the familiar aura of her once old friend, but it was strange – a definite match and yet quite different. She decided to look for the cause anyway.

She explored the guild and met many other dragons. It was actually with a visit to a young theatre master when she saw the familiar sheen. Filled with excitement and relief, she ran towards the sapphire coloured dragon with a body full of stars and joyously exclaimed: "Vega!"

The dragon turned and placed his bright eyes (which contained far more wisdom than possible for his age) on her. A spark of recognition flared as he started to realise who she is.

"Bellatrix..? Is that your name?" his voice reverberated through her. "I seem to know you, but I'm uncertain as to why."

"Vega. You're different. You're male!" Bellatrix exclaimed.

Sensing the confusion on both ends they decided to confer in one of the guild's rooms. Bellatrix told Vega about an old star she knew, who have died recently and how she is dumbfounded by the fact that the star's life echoes in the his body. Vega in turn told her a story – a fond recollection of his mother – about how he was born without life and by the miracle of the stars he was reborn with a coming of constellations on his body.

His story sparked a realisation in Bellatrix's mind. "Vega you are a Star Deity. Your name is the one my old friend once owned, the same friend who seemingly gave the last of her life's essence to rejuvenate you. One could say that you are the previous Deity, or a successor if you will."

She told him about the deities, how they are stars and have always been listening to the stories the mortals would tell them and how every now and then they would grant the mortal's wish. She explained that there are many other Star Deities, and that all of them will be coming to this planet in search of him, following the trail of the old star:

"The others will be coming and we need to find them. They need to know that Vega has been reborn."
