"Sorry." Chuckled the Tundra, turning his head to face the Mirror that'd jumped in front of him, "He's just a bit overprotective of me. That's all. Gestas, play nice!"
The Mirror just glanced at his partner before hissing and nuzzling up to the fluffy Tundra, content that he was safe, "Okay, Dismas..."

Gestas and Dismas were thieves and partners in crime, but they both had two very distinct styles. Dismas is the nicer of the two, but also the more cynical - Dismas preyed on the pity of others, because he's partially blind (and often pretended to lose his glasses) and his memory isn't that good at all. But that doesn't mean that he wasn't clever about his scams. Now he prefers to plan out scouting and hunting missions.

Meanwhile, Gestas was more for brute force and sneaking around. He's impulsive and can be quite aggressive, which leads him to be overprotective of his companion and mate even if they've given up thievery in favour of settling down in The Terminal Burrow. Gestas now turns his attention to hunting and fighting instead of thievery.

It'll take a while before Gestas realises that nobody wants to hurt Dismas. But, hey, Dismas isn't complaining.
