Biography

u94vsV4.gif Samira
Professional Muse

Perhaps a divine blessing for the impact that her garish colors would otherwise leave on an unsuspecting dragon's eyeballs, or maybe just an indication of just how clever the mind behind her skin is, Samira has always had a talent for getting her way. To her great benefit growing up within Mavenlark's artisan community, artists in particular are drawn to this bright Pearlcatcher and find that some of their greatest works are born in her presence - the artist's paintbrush begins to move in ways unthought of his claws, the poet remembers strings of words long forgotten, and the dancer feels the release of the chains that kept their feet mobile. Samira is a muse incarnate, and artists from across Sornieth flock to be in her mere presence: a status she doesn't mind, so long as they come bearing treasure and gifts. Her den is equipped to deal with this heavy traffic flow and feels more or less like a ballroom than someone's home. Silks and blankets are drawn freely across the walls, soft pastel cushions allow for comfort while working, and in the center sits a small, circular stage where Samira herself lounges.

What exactly is it about her that all of these artists find so appealing? Brainier dragons might suspect the manipulation of cortex-centric magic, and they would be right. Samira was born with an innate ability to automatically stimulate the brains of dergs that stand within her radius, evoking strong positive emotions - as well as creativity, which is more noticeable by a trained artist seeking inspiration.

Due to the attention she receives for relatively little on her end, Samira is definitely a bit spoiled, expecting life's greatest fruits to hand themselves to her. And it's not as if anything has proved this expectation to be wrong, either. Within her little pleasure den, with artists worshipping her each day, and no small number of artworks inspired by her visage pouring out - why shouldn't she be a little full of herself, anyway? Her parents seem to be the only ones unaffected by her strange ability, and freely chastise her bratty behavior when it rears its ugly head - probably the only thing keeping her somewhat moral.
