The Trial Results!
Galena sighed as yet another day of scavenging chores was finally over and she could practice her flying on the Ascent. The winds were strong today, and there was only one more week until her testing. If she was able to complete the bridging test, she could finally journey as a full adult!
"Galena!" yelled Merkaze as he swept down and landed beside her. "They just posted the list for the trials, and you get to go first this year!"
She groaned quietly and hung her head. "Just what i was afraid of. The first one in the trial always has the hardest time gauging the wind strengths and the best jumps. Everyone after that gets to watch and see exactly where the first screwed up."
Merkaze scrunched his eye ridges. "You won't screw up, you're too good. Even Cali says you could outfly her on the Ascent."
"Cali is being far too nice then. She's the best flyer in the whole Lair!"
Something was starting to smell super good, a big sniff of the breeze coming from he Kitchen cavern, and Galena's mouth was watering. Magus was making cookies, her favorite ginger snaps!
"I think we deserve a couple cookies, and then the two of us can practice! Come on, before they are all gone!" and they raced each other to the kitchen...
