Phenomenon finally decided, she was going to travel the world, it would pain her to leave her home for a long time, but it was going to be worth it in the end. She announced her plan to the clan and was returned with overwhelming sadness, but support. She then went out and flew in a random direction. So this is where the journey begins.

Clan: The Forgotten Sanctuary

The way Phenomenon decided to go was a generally northern direction. She unknowingly began to fly blindly into one of the harshest territories in Sornieth, The Scarred Wasteland. Red eyed dragons stared at her questioningly as she flew over the land and crossed their path in the air. The scent of lush grass and the feeling of Wind Flight magic radiated from her and they were surprised to see a lack of supplies a foreign dragon usually needed when traveling through their lands.

She was wildly under-prepared and it showed. But not to Phenomenon. She was having the time of her life, surprisingly enough! The new sights and dragons coursed adrenaline through her. The excitement was thrilling! Everything was so new and different, from the landscape to the not so pleasant smell in the air. So she decided to get a closer look.

Phenomenon slowly descended, her claws eventually meeting the ground. There seemed to be nothing in sight. It was an empty wasteland all around her. Slowly her excitement drained away to disappointment. But she shook her head. I just need to explore more, she thought to herself, There will be something on the ground. So Phenomenon started walking. But still... There was nothing. Her nose itched a bit and was beginning to run, causing her to sniffle occasionally. She brushed it off as allergies.

That was a mistake. It soon became apparent that wasn't the case. Her wings drooped and were too weak to fly. Her pace slowed. and as the sun set, she eventually collapsed onto the ground, sickness overtaking her and threatening to end her journey before it began...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hours passed and eventually Phenomenon woke again, to her surprise. She thought she was done for! She felt better now and was in a large, dark cave, still within Plague lands. "Hello..?" She called softly, her voice weak and a strange bitter aftertaste on her tongue.
"Hello..." A deep, loud voice echoed. A shape in the dark moved and stood, walking to stand over the Spiral. The outline was of a guardian and the faint red glow of his eyes proved he was Plague-born.
Phenomenon squeaked and curled into a small ball. "Please don't eat me! I'm sorry for trespassing, I am a traveler, I didn't know!" She cried, causing a deep rumble to escape the Guardian.
But it wan't a malicious sound, rather a friendly chuckle. "Nonsense, child... My purpose is no longer to harm. My name is Onyx. I am this clan's healer. I may be threatening but my violent past is far behind me." He said, his voice wise sounding. He was an old soul. "My clanmates found you and brought you to me. You are from foreign flight lands and were ill-prepared to subject your body to the diseases here. Do not feel bad however. Many have found their way to our clan this way." Onyx said, an amused tone to his voice. "I have treated you. I make a special tonic that can heal the diseases of this land and make you immune to them as if you were Plague-born. I have placed a few of these in your bag." The Guardian said with a gentle pat on the Spiral's head.
Phenomenon seemed to visibly relax, smiling brightly to the Guardian. "Thank you so much! I'll be more careful next time!" She said cheerfully, her brush with death not seeming to put a damper on her spirit.
Onyx nodded, smiling a bit. Her cheerful demeanor was contagious. "You should stay for a few days to recover. I take it you won't be staying long, traveler. Gather some supplies. Meet some dragons. But take it easy." The Veteran Guardian murmured, standing and walking off to tend to others in the cave, a noticeable limp affecting his walking.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Phenomenon decided to take Onyx's advice and take it easy for a few days. Meet new people. That was her goal. She first met Glass and Lies who both lived in the healer's den.

Glass was plagued by a disorder that made him fragile beyond belief. One misstep could lead to broken bones. He was a gentle dragon, very careful and soft spoken. He was very kind-hearted and was happy to have Phenomenon's company as he wasn't allowed to leave the clan alone like she could. He asked about her travels and Phenomenon sadly admitted she hadn't been around much yet. Glass made her promise to return after she had seen more territories to tell him about it.

Next was Lies. He was... Completely different. First, he refused to believe Phenomenon was real and also seemed to talk to a few other not real dragons. Phenomenon would try to start conversation with him but he would merely shush her and say he was "listening for the others". When she would inquire, Lies would tell her not to worry as he protected everyone from "them". Eventually Onyx informed her he "wasn't much of a conversationalist with real folks". So Phenomenon decided to explore the clan further...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next dragons she met were Bloodmoon, Azazel, and Morningstar.
Bloodmoon was the Clan's leader. He was a small Fae, his name made him sound more threatening than he looked. But the Imperial accompanying him, Azazel the leader of the guard, was all threatening. But they were both kind as well and welcomed her even though she was only staying for a short time. Morningstar was Azazel's second in command but it was revealed the armored Coatl had been the one to find her! "Good thing you glow in the dark! We may not have found you in time. But I'm glad we did, you're really fun!" Morningstar said with a grin.
The small group chatted a bit more but eventually had to part ways as the three Clan members were on their way to a meeting with their sister clan in the Nature flight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The days passed and eventually Pheomenon's strength returned to her fully. She had met many kind, fun and... Interesting dragons in her time here. A Magical being and his tiny demon friend, a thief who tried to steal her coin purse from her (only to apologize and return it when she befriended him), a terrifying mercenary who she had inexplicably bad luck around, and even some Gaolers, Glae and Sanguine. But eventually her time came to continue her journey elsewhere.

Her new friends were sad to see Phenomenon go, but understood why she felt she had to. A large group gathered as she said her goodbyes to everyone she had met and eventually Bloodmoon made his way to the front of the crowd. He offered her a kind smile and held out his hand, giving her a small necklace with a red pendant on it. The Plague symbol was etched into the stone.

"This is to remember us by." Bloodmoon said, looping the necklace around her neck with a warm smile. "If you ever find yourself lost or alone in your travels, you have a home here in The Sanctuary. Don't forget that." The Fae murmured, nodding to Phenomenon.

The Spiral smiled brightly, nodding to the Clan Leader and placing her claw over the necklace for a moment in an affectionate manner. "Of course I won't forget that. Thank you all! I will return one day and tell you of my travels!" She promised, waving to the group of dragons. With one last smile, Phenomenon turned towards the open sky and took off, glancing over her shoulder down to the group shrinking as she flew away.

One adventure was over and she was ready to begin another as she flew off into the exhilerating unknown once again...

With her sights turned northward once more, Pheomenon took flight for the Viridian Labyrinth. After spending so much time within the Scarred Wasteland, she had grown curious about its sister Flight, after all. She was much more prepared this time, and thankfully did not have to stop to resupply often during her journey.

Phenomenon was taken aback by how green the Viridian Labyrinth was. From afar, she could have sworn that the island jungle was simply a giant emerald, drifting in a sea of dark sapphires. She plunged into the wilderness without a second thought, edged forward by her wanderlust and determination. She found herself first within the Everbloom Gardens. Phenomenon was astounded by the sheer number of blooms within the lush forest, and soon found herself drawn to a flowering vine and the red blossoms it held. She reached for one of the delicate blooms, to only to hear a shout from behind her.

"Stop!"

Phenomenon jumped, startled, and whipped around to face the source of the cry. Trotting towards her with an almost panicked expression was a Tundra who seemed almost as floral as the gardens. Before Phenomenon could say a word, the Tundra had grasped her claws and was turning them over in his, studying them.

"What are y-"

"Did you touch those flowers?" The Tundra interjected, glancing up at Phenomenon.

"...No, why?" She wasn't quite sure how to feel about this Tundra; he didn't seem malicious, but he certainly was...enthusiastic.

He sighed, releasing Pheomenon's talons and stepping back. "That vine is called Festerfew. There are tiny thorns on the stem that have a potent poison, which causes terrible rashes and blisters. See?" The Tundra cautiously lifted one of the leaves, revealing tiny needle-like thorns that covered the entire vine. At first glance, they were almost invisible.

Phenomenon twisted her claws together absently, a bit embarrassed. Those flowers were so pretty, too... "Oh, uh... Thank you." She quickly glanced around the Gardens, wondering if any other plants were so unpleasant.

"Don't mention it." The Tundra replied dismissively. He studied her for a moment, then, "You aren't from around here, are you?"

"What gave it away?" Phenomenon replied, half-joking.

The Tundra chuckled. "Just a hunch." He smiled softly. "So, what brings you here?"

Phenomenon beamed. "I'm a traveller! This is my second stop." She enthused.

The Tundra returned her smile earnestly. "That's great! If you don't have a place to stay yet, my clan is always open to a traveller or two, and we're just a little bit north of here." He offered, pointing to his left.

Phenomenon turned, and found herself surprised by how dense the forest became just a few yards away. How could anyone navigate that? With a twinge of unease, she realized that the sun would be setting soon. But...she wasn't sure where else she could find a place to stay so late.

As if sensing her unease, the Tundra quickly added, "I can take you there in a minute, if you want. I just have to get another plant, and I'll be ready to go." He explained, patting a leather bag packed with various plants at his side. "I'm Hikaru, by the way."

Phenomenon smiled. "Nice to meet you, Hikaru. I'm Pheomenon, and that would be great, thank you." She replied, smiling brightly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hikaru found the plant he needed with relative ease, and quickly escorted Phenomenon to his clan. The trek took a little over an hour, and during that time Phenomenon found that she and Hikaru had a decent bit in common, though he was more intent on focusing on his own character than making a name for himself. Soon enough, they came upon a massive tree surrounded by vibrant gardens. Leaving her in the gardens for a moment, Hikaru quickly returned with a green Skydancer behind him.
The Skydancer introduced himself as Chantau, king of the clan. Phenomenon, honestly, was a bit surprised that he of all dragons was a king. He couldn't have been more than two years older than her, and most certainly had an air of youthful inexperience about him. But, he was generous and regal, and led her himself to where she would be staying.
The clan seemed to be largely composed to artisans, merchants, and mages, and seemed to bustle with business and trade in the lower levels. Phenomenon, however, would be staying in the vast and quiet canopy of the massive tree. It was here that the mages of the clan also stayed, and each occupied lair seemed to be heavily decorated with a certain element.
Phenomenon met many dragons during her stay, though only managed to talk to one mage: a sparkly Imperial known as Lucius. Something about him was...off. He was friendly, of course, with a smile that drew you in. But...it never seemed to reach his eyes. Phenomenon did her best to avoid him.
While she had no luck talking with any of the clan's mages, Phenomenon frequently visited to two resident alchemists: Alaurun and Myste. Alaurun seemed a bit off, like Lucius, but in an almost endearing way. She once compared him to an annoying younger sibling, which earned delighted laughter from Myste and almost a half-hour of grumbling from Alaurun. Phenomenon became close friends with Myste during her stay, partly because both dragons were happy to have found another almost as bright as themselves.
Myste was happy to have Phenomenon in the lab with her and Alaurun, and even more happy to teach Phenomenon the basics of alchemy. During one of these lessons, Phenomenon left her claws near an alchemical component for too long, and walked away with her clawtips glowing a vibrant green. While originally a bit concerned for her health, she grew to love her new look once Myste quickly assured her it was harmless.
"You look just like an alchemist, now!" Myste cried, a warm smile on her face.
Phenomenon enjoyed her time in the Nature clan, and especially enjoyed meeting all the new dragons she could. An eccentric storyteller and a nameless bard became good friends of hers, and the great pillow keeper Pajamas (or PJ for short) and Phenomenon built many legendary pillow forts during the Spiral's stay. Hematea's and Iestyn's café quickly became a favorite, and while Phenomenon could barely understand what she said most of the time, Harika was always and interesting dragon to talk to.
But, like before, the time came for Phenomenon to start out on her adventure once again. Bidding farewell to her new friends, and promising her storyteller friends that she would return with her own tale one day, Phenomenon took off into the world once more.
Phenomenon's Journal
After following many caravans across the western realms of Soreinth, I’ve found myself back in the Windswept Plateau. As nice as it is to be back in familiar land, it’s hard to appreciate it when you had a rough time sleeping at night. When the caravan leader saw how tired I was, she kindly offered me a ride in her wagon, insisting that I sleep on the way to the destination. Needless to say I took her offer with gratitude and slept like a cat on the way there. Never before had a sack of rice been such a comfy pillow.
When I woke up, the wagon had come to a stop and I could hear the caravan leader talking to someone. When I peered out of the wagon, there stood the biggest Imperial I’d ever seen! His body and wings were a striking silver color that had me dazzled. Behind him stood a grand stone gate and even grander temple ruins reaching above the vast steppe.
~~~~~~~~~~~

This clan not only has a huge dragon population, but also a wide variety of other creatures! It’s hard to believe that all of these familiars are cared for by only two dragons! Lona and Theispas do an incredible job with keeping their humongous herd in check. Lona told me that most of the animals living here were up for adoption, and there was one little fella who caught my eye. A brightly colored Hainu who I decided to name Aloha, after a saying I once heard. I'm glad to have this sweet little girl on board.

16251.png
Aloha became Phenomenon's companion!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s incredible to think that In the little time I’ve been in the ruins, I’ve not only acquired a traveling companion. I’ve become a mother to that same striking gatekeeper’s first clutch. I had gotten to know him quite well before hand. His name is Karora, also known as the “Steadfast Guard”. He and another Imperial, Theandrios I think he said, were the guards of the main gate. I can’t imagine what it would be like having to stand in one spot for the entire day. For me, that would be torture, but to him, there’s no other job he would ever ask for. He said he had once failed to protect somebody Important to him, and thus he would protect the clan he has now no matter the cost. I guess that loyalty is what drew me to him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Departure Day

The day started with Aloha waking me up with excited barking. I was about to scold her for the rude awakening, but then I saw why she had woken me up: one by one, the four eggs began to crack open from the inside. I was filled with a rush of excitement I had never felt before. Eyes wide and at a temporary loss for words, I was startled when I heard a gasp come from the small chamber’s entryway. There stood Theandrios, who was soon gone, running off to get the head medic and Karora. In mere minutes the medic and the cluth’s father were in the room, as we all gathered around the emerging hatchlings. But however joyful it was, I knew my time there was almost up. I spent the little time I had left with my first little ones, and that night, Aloha and I left the tribe. I gave a tearful goodbye to the family I must leave behind, promising to visit every now and then.

But honestly, who knows when I’ll have the opportunity to see them again. I guess that’s up to fate.

As Phenomenon took one last longing look at her newfound family, she carried onward into the dark night. The sunset shone through thick clouds on the horizon, though she figured she could beat whatever impending storm that might happen upon her. Quickly, she darted across the last, bamboo-covered beach and crossed into the Sea of a Thousand Currents. She saw nothing below her but vast, abyssal waters. Descending, she felt the air become thick with fog, weighing down her already tired wings. She swerved to her right, beginning to fly into the Ashfall waste. While the air seemed to lighten, she suddenly became hot and rising smoke filled her lungs. Trying to escape the cons of both flights, she seemed to forget what happened when hot and cold air mixed. Unbeknownst to her, a raging hurricane was beginning to form on the boundary between the two conflicting flights. Phenomenon felt her wings grow heavy once again, the pull of the ever-increasing wind pulling her down like shackles. A bolt of lightning struck in the distance, scaring her into falling even closer to the water. She could see the beginnings of the dry Shifting Expanse ahead, though with each flap of her wings her vision became blurrier. "This is how I die," she thinks, "I have a family to live for, I have to carry on! I can't die now! Even though my wings are heavy, my heart is alight with love for the people I've met and hope for the future! I have to go! I have to!" Screaming in frustration, she pushed her tiny body even further, flying swiftly against the torrential tides of the hurricane. She was almost there, almost to the border. Phenomenon could feel the hurricane on her back now, though she was terrified to look and see. She flew faster and faster, chanting her mantra of encouragement and strength. When she finally saw the sandy desert below her, she allowed her body to fall. Using the last of her fleeting lucidity, she turned her body and outstretched her wings to land in the sanctuary of a shaded oasis. As thunder rumbled above her, she fell asleep.

Whispers. Light behind her eyelids. She could barely make out what was being said, "...you think she's gonna wake up soon?" Another higher-pitched voice joined in, "We should just cut our losses. Bet she won't wake up at all, and we're just wasting supplies." Phenomenon groaned lowly, flicking her wings and stretching her limbs as the weight of sleep began to lift. A few gasps resounded, and one scoff. She could feel two gently paws propping up her head on a cloth-covered rock. She cracked open her eyelids and was met with a menagerie of dragons. She first noticed the glimmering eyes of a small fae tending to her, grinding a few handfuls of colorful leaves into a mortar. Behind her was a young wildclaw, studying the fae's use of herbs with a concentrated look. He glanced up at Phenomenon but quickly looked away again. Wires ran along the ceiling of the cave, illuminating a few stray lightbulbs scattered about. A sneering pearlcatcher leaned against the rocky back wall, while a bronze spiral sat at the foot of her makeshift bed, quickly moving to check on her once she realized that Phenomenon was awake. The two spirals quickly bonded without words- the older woman taking on a motherly role that Phenomenon was happy to have. She purred a little before speaking hoarsely, "...am I dead?" A trio of hatchlings sitting on jutted rocks began laughing like a pack of hyenas. Finally, she noticed a yellow imperial walking closer to her. He smiled, reassuring her that, "...no, young one, you aren't dead. You're in the Carrion Canyon." Phenomenon was confused- she was in a cool cave, how could this be the scolding, harsh deserts of the Shifting Expanse? "I'm Phanes," the Imperial spoke again, "... and this is the Labyrinth of Fossils, a series of eroded tunnels inside the walls of the ravine. Venatici," he nods his snout towards the glaring pearlcatcher, "...found you baking in the sun out in the middle of the Highland Scrubs. Can you explain what happened to you?" Phenomenon nodded, and began to explain how her journey began- her trips to Plague and Nature, back to wind where she left her first clutch of eggs, and then getting caught in a sudden storm. Phanes nodded along to her story, while the spiral, who she began to know as Rhea, pet her head softly. Phanes and other members of the clan agreed to allow her to stay until she was well enough to carry on. The hatchlings giggled, happy to have a new friend. Venatici groaned, knowing she would have more hunting to do, but walked off muttering about how "...she'll pull her weight around here." A friendly jeweler gave her a set of new clothing, while a cheering mirror ran circles around her, begging her to tell them about her wondrous journey.

~~~
Phenomenon quickly fell into stride with the rest of the clan, learning how to maneuver through the tunnels with the help of a mapmaking fae and one of the three hatchlings she met. This one called himself Candle, fitting for a dragon who's eyes glowed like lightbulbs. She learned that these three hatchlings weren't actually hatchlings, but in fact a trio of undead dragons who were given a second chance. While quirky, she found their childish antics quite endearing. Watching the hatchlings play left her with a longing to see her own children, though, and she found solace with another mother, Rhea. Rhea was a mother to all the hatchlings, those adopted and those birthed in the clan. She loved caring for the little ones and made it her life's purpose to teach them how to be hardworking dragons. Rhea told her about Izanagi and Cernunnos, a pair of brothers who's eggs were found and brought home. They were raised happily in the clan despite not knowing where they came from, and adopted each other as family. Izanagi was the younger sibling; a pacifist who enjoyed nature and was the apprentice to the main healer, Cerridwen. Cernunnos was the older brother, becoming more of a hardened warrior than a sidelines healer. An oracle named Sunset reassured her that her children were doing fine and were walking on a healthy and happy path.
Phenomenon also made 'friends' with the hostile pearlcatcher once said dragon realized she was capable and willing to work. Although Venatici's alignment was with arcane, she was raised in the Shifting Expanse and adopted a lot of Stormcatcher's tendencies. With Phenomenon's skill in alchemy and immunity to disease, Venatici put her to work crafting various potions. She quickly found that in order to stay in this clan, she'd have to work for her place. While it was grueling labor, Phenomenon felt the environment was very tight-knit and trustworthy at its core. In her free time, she read poetry with Bloom, the gardener, and a mute Skydancer named Sugar. She also found herself chatting nonchalantly with a serious Gaoler named Shadowkeep; who, quite fittingly, was their official guard of the monsters of Shade. The gatekeeper reminded her to be wary of her travels, as not all who find her will be so kind. On the other hand, an angelic nocturne named Crimson laughed that Shadowkeep was just a little angsty at times, and to take what she says with a grain of salt.
While wandering through the tunnels, she happened to stumble upon a shiny hoard and a very angry mirror. He began yelling and hissing aggressively at her for no reason! Thankfully, a carefree bogsneak came trotting into the room and started rearranging the hoard, effectively taking all the attention from Phenomenon. She didn't go near the vault again.
By far, though, Phenomenon's favorite friend was the last of the hatchlings, an excitable little zombie named Incense. She found that while her exterior was intimidating, she was actually a very tame little dragon. Hatchlings like she had found a safe haven in the Labyrinth, allowing them to finally be free to the harsh looks of living dragons. Oftentimes Incense would curl up on Phenomenon's lap while she read the little nocturne stories.
~~~

Soon, though, as the days stretched to a week and Phenomenon's health was regained, she was ready to once again set off on her journey. The clan was sad to see her go: The trio of hatchlings, especially Incense, clung to her body and begged her to stay. She smiled solemnly and said she had to leave, but promised to return with more stories for them. She also promised to introduce her hatchlings to them once they were grown enough to fly with her. Rhea wished her the best of luck in raising her kids, and even Venatici gave her a nod as she was paraded to the top of the canyon. A dreamwalker named Scarlet gave her a tail lamp that many dragons used to guide themselves through the dark tunnels. She clipped it onto her tail and set off into the dark night, the Labyrinth of Fossils watching the light shrink until it became one with the rest of the stars in the sky.

Phenomenon, having made her way out of the cave, now traveled the vastness of The Shifting Expanse northwards. Luckily her supplies were enough to keep her going. She finally arrived at the end of the lightning domain, leaving the thunderous weather behind her, she sets her first foot into the pristine, bright land of the Sunbeam Ruins. Ironically enough, she was met with darkness of all things. She arrived at the setting of the sun, and she's found herself in the middle of The Hewn City. She quickly darted through it, heading in the northern direction. She felt very uneasy, as if her every move was being watched. She was soon stopped as she was met with The Hewn City border patrol, who questioned her on where she was heading and what her intentions were. She explained that she's a travelling alchemist who is just visiting. After further investigation, they decided she's harmless and let her be.

Day 1:

Phenomenon finally made her way across the city and into The Mirrorlight Promenade, and that is when she witnessed the beauty of the Sunbeam ruins she's heard about. At the break of dawn, she saw how everything was so vibrant, where there wasn't a stone not touched by the sun. Phenomenon was absolutely left aghast by the beauty of it all! She wandered around for a while, gazing at how everything shined so brightly. After a couple of hours of walking and looking around, she noticed her supplies were running low, and she felt the hunger begin to set in. She began searching, hoping to find anything to eat. After some time of her fruitless searching, she found a pillar to rest by, as she has exhausted herself. It wasn't long before a gold tinged, ivory imperial descended to her location. Phenomenon could only stare in awe at her scales glistening in the bright sun. The imperial spoke in a melodious voice, "Hello there, child. Are you alright? You seem very tired and spent." Phenomenon rose from where she was recovering to address the stranger. "Ah, hello there. My name is Phenomenon, nice to meet you! To be honest with you. I'm kind of new around here. I couldn't find anything to eat, and I'm a bit lost." Phenomenon laughed awkwardly. The imperial bowed her head "Pleased to meet you, Phenomenon. My name is Alessia. If you're looking for sustenance, my clan will be more than happy to welcome you." She said with a warm, inviting smile. Phenomenon eagerly agreed, she'd never miss the chance to meet more dragons of different backgrounds.

Alessia took her deep into the Mirrorlight Promenade, to The Sun-Borne Library. She was lead to The Archive, a massive library built into the side of a cliff, by a waterfall. The hospitality was more than inviting, Alessia has given her room in The Archive, "I hope you find it to your liking, one of my colleagues will be here shortly with some food, don't be afraid to ask for help." Alessia bowed and quietly left Phenomenon to get situated. After getting comfortable with the room, a dark, crimson clad fae dragon capered her way into the room shortly after, with a plate of various meats and insects in hand. "Hello there! You must be Phenomenon. Alessia told me about you, it's always nice to see a new face around once in a while! My name is Vulviing, how are you feeling?" Phenomenon was very happy to see such kindness, that she was at a loss for words. "I-I'm alright, thank you for asking." She finally spoke up. Vulviing handed her the plate of food. "You must be hungry, here. Don't be afraid to look around after you've finished, The Archive is open to anyone!" she says with a wide toothy smile, which quickly fell to an awkwardly smirk, as if she misspoke. "Well, almost anyone... Don't worry about that, though. You're definitely welcome to look around!" Vulviing left the room to tend to other things, and Phenomenon laid down to enjoy the food and recuperate, a chance regain her breath is always welcoming.

As she finished enjoying the meal, she wasted no time in feeding her curiosity as well. She left her quarters to look around the place. As she made her way down the worn yet lovely hall, she finally made it back to the foyer. She didn't get a chance to look around the main entrance, due to being exhausted. With the entrance to her back, she delved north towards the main spectacle of The Archive, the library itself. Thousands of parchments, tomes, and scrolls all organized and organized meticulously on the shelves that are placed in a circular pattern in the round chamber, they lined the walls as well, and ran up the walls as well, she looked up to notice how the ceiling was as well. She moved delicately, as to not disrupt the atmosphere, she didn't see any other dragon but she didn't want to make the mistake of causing a nuisance should there be someone here. As she continued looking around, she began wondering, I wonder if they have anything on alchemy... she thought to herself, Even if they did, I'm not sure where to find it. She suddenly stopped when she hears the sound of shuffling papers.

She looks around cautiously to find the source of the noise. Until she comes across a a navy skydancer with wings of gold, who is draped in cloth that is equally as gold. The skydancer was carrying large assortments of scrolls and papers, she was taking notes as she sorted them into the rest. Phenomenon swallows hard and tries to grab her attention. "Erm, hello there." she says out loud. The skydancer shrieks in terror, which in turn causes Phenomenon to shriek and rock back and bump into a shelf behind her, knocking some of it's contents onto the floor. The skydancer quickly rushes over to the items and puts them back to their original spot. She turns to face Phenomenon, "Hello there, I don't believe we've met. Are you new around here?" She asks with a nervous laughter. "Uh yeah I was brought in by Alessia." The skydancer widens her eyes and dons a wide smile "Oooooh! You're the traveler she told us about! I've been waiting to meet you!" She rushes to Phenomenon and grabs hold of her claws and does not break eye contact. "You must tell me all you've seen! Have you ever been to the Viridian Labyrinth? Is it really as green as I read it is? What about the Ashfall Wastes? I read that the smoke from The Great Furnace blots out the entire sky there! Oh! And also hav-" She notices that she's smothering Phenomenon with this barrage of questions, and backs off slowly. "I-I'm sorry, I got a little bit excited. I don't really get to meet and have a chance to talk to dragons who come from around the world. I apologise for my manners." she bows apologetically "My name is Linu, by the way. I haven't a chance to ask you yours." She returns to a calm collected tone. "My name is Phenomenon. It's alright, I understand what it's like, it's why I decided to become a traveler anyways!" Phenomenon saw a bit of herself within Linu, the sense of wonder about the world they live in. "If you want, we can sit down and I'll tell you all about my adventures so far." Linu hesitated for a moment, she looks back at the pile of tomes and scrolls she still has to sort. She goes quiet for a minute, trying to think about the possibilities. This minute goes on for too long...
Eventually, Vulviing runs into them and immediately understands the situation. "Linu, if you want to have a cup of tea with our guest, you need only ask. I'll finish your work for now." Vulviing offers. "Oh you're a gift from the Lightweaver herself! Thank you ever so much!" Linu whisks Phenomenon away to the dining room so that they can have their talk.

Linu hung on every word of Phenomenon's story, she was in complete awe of what she's been through. She was also surprised she was able to withstand all of this all by herself. "To go on this grand adventure and not have someone by your side, I'm astonished!" Linu exclaims with wonderment. "Well, I wasn't totally alone." Phenomenon reaches down, grabs hold of her colourful friend. "I've had Aloha keeping me company for the better part of my journey. She's a good to have around. Reminds me of the family I left behind." Phenomenon holds her friend and hugs her tightly. Linu notices her upset look, and tries to make Phenomenon feel better by brightening her mood. She gets up from where they were having their tea. "You told me you were an alchemist?" Phenomenon snaps out of her state and looks up to Linu, and nods. "Follow me!" Linu gestures for Phenomenon to follow her back to the library halls. She takes her to a specific pair of bookshelves in the northwestern quadrant of the chamber. "This is the alchemy section of the library! Our resident alchemist and apothecary have been working hard on cataloging all their findings. I thought you'd be interested in taking a look." Phenomenon's mood immediately brightened, she was almost overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge before her. She hesitate for a second, and turned to Linu. "Is it really alright?" Linu can see her eagerness, and gives her a bright smile. "Of course! The Archive's knowledge is open for everyone. I hope you enjoy all of this. Try to get some sleep though, it is almost getting dark, out. Tomorrow I might take you to meet the alchemists themselves, if you'd like." Linu gives her a cup of tea and some roasted rabbit legs. "I hope you enjoy your stay here, thank you again for sharing your tales!" Linu beamed, and headed upstairs into her quarters.

Phenomenon was left alone in the calm blissfulness of the chamber, she tried to not make any more noise and began her studies. As the night pushed on and Phenomenon has gone through an entire bookshelf. She decided to clean up and get some sleep. As she bundled up with Aloha by her side, she stared at the night sky through her window. The sky is even bright even in the night, she thought to herself, as she dosed off staring into the stars.

Day 2:

Phenomenon awoke the sunlight shining through her window, and the sound of valley quails chirping and calling to one another. She almost forgot where she was, and rose from her bedding. Besides her were a set of emerald clothes, she assumed it's was meant for her to put on, so she didn't hesitate in donning them. They fit well on her and were comfortable! Not long after, Linu knocks on the door and asks to come in. Phenomenon calls out "Oh it's alright, you can come in!" Linu tip toes in and admires the outfit on Phenomenon. "I hope they fit nicely on you, they complement you well, you look like a seasoned alchemist already!" Phenomenon agreed joyfully, and spun quickly around. "Thank you so much for this, they're wonderful." Linu shook her head calmly, "It wasn't me who picked them out, it was Vulviing. I have something else for you, though!" Linu holds out her claws and hands her a small ornate box. "A friend gave me these, he said it was from an old mage who came from The Behemoth, in The Viridian Labyrinth. I thought they'd fit better on you." Phenomenon accepted her gift graciously, and thanked her with a hug.

Linu walked her out of the chamber and explained to her she was to take her to meet with the alchemists as she promised. "You'll love them, they're an eccentric group, I'm sure you'll learn a lot from them!" Linu continued explaining to her. As they made into the foyer, Vulviing was there waiting for them. "Looks like the clothes fit you well." the fae smiled, "Are you off to meet with the alchemists?" Phenomenon nodded, "I couldn't wait, why don't you come with us?" she offered to Vulviing, who responded with a polite bow, "Thank you, but I still have things to tend to, I hope we have what you've been looking for, have fun!" Vulviing opened the gate and waved goodbye to the pair as they departed.

They strolled for a while, Linu continued to ask her about the things she's encountered, Phenomenon loved to share her stories anyways. Their joyful promenade was interrupted when they crossed path with a hooded skydancer, shrouded in black, who was following an intimidating coatl who had a scar over her eye. The coatl stopped to inspect Phenomenon, she felt the cold stare going through her, sending a chill down her spine. Linu sensed the tension and spoke up to the coatl, "This is our visitor, Karliah. Her name is Phenomenon and she's under protection of The Circle. Is there something you need?" Linu tried to provoke her break her stare. Karliah doesn't respond and just moves on past them. Linu and Phenomenon both let out a sigh of relief. "I was hoping we wouldn't run into any of them." Linu clutches the collar of her robes.

"Who were they? They don't even look like they belong here, yet she was light-born?" Phenomenon asked in a worried tone, "I wouldn't worry about them, they can't harm you. I'll explain everything later, I promise. For now, I've a promise I intend to fulfill!" Linu is back to her cheery self, and they continued their trek. As they finally reach the apothecary, which was a combination of a cave and an extensive greenhouse. Linu lead her in and introduced her to the apprentices before meeting the headmasters themselves.

She introduced her to a competitive spiral named Vervain, and Helix, a nocturne that tends to the gardens. And finally, she introduced her to Emre, an imperial that acted as the first apprentice to the headmasters. Linu left Phenomenon in Emre's care. "Emre will help you with any qualms, you're in a good place, you'll be fine!" Linu smiles and pulls Phenomenon closer to whisper range. "Just don't be put off by Marcel, he's capricious but he'll teach you great things. Dinya will be kinder to you." Linu backs away a couple of steps, bows one last time, "I'll be back later to check on you. Until next time." She beamed, and exited the cave.

Emre brought her up to speed on how things operated around here, the headmasters give 4 sessions a day, and anyone can attend. Phenomenon was determined to learn all that she could from them. So she patiently waited with the rest of the apprentices, exchanging stories and backgrounds. When finally, an old, shrouded mirror dragon lumbered his way in with a firebug by his side. "Hnngh, are you hoodlums ready?" He calls out with a very course, stinging voice. All the apprentices answer in unison. Phenomenon steps in front to greet him. "Hi! You must be Marcel, I'm eager to learn anything you can teach me, I already have a grasp of the basics." Phenomenon smiled at him, but it's as if he's not looking at her, just her general direction. He tilts his head from side to side, his firebug leans in close to Phenomenon, staring at her. "Hnnngh, well you're gonna need one of these." he grabs one of the baskets that were resting on a table, intended to collect and store ingredients. "Don't lose it, you only get one!" He says as he hands it to her. Phenomenon dons it and readies herself to work the hardest she's ever did.

Druid's Woodbasket

Phenomenon spent the rest of the day at the apothecary, and stayed true to her promise. She worked the hardest and shined brighter than the apprentices. Yes, all she knew were the basics, but she was a fast learner, and that resonated specifically with Marcel, so much that for the first time in a long while, he was actually impressed. Though he had a funny way of showing it. The other headmaster, a pearlcatcher named Dinya, whose specialty was healing ailments, was equally as impressed by Phenomenon's fastidiousness. They rewarded her with a couple of personal scrolls and tomes containing tantalizing recipes. Phenomenon was ecstatic at receiving these. The headmasters encouraged her to come back again before she leaves, to which she obliged to. Around the end of the final session, Linu has arrived to escort her back to The Archive. It got dark out quickly, Phenomenon barely felt the passing time.

The pair made their way back, Phenomenon of course telling her all about what she's gone through today, she explained everything with writhing vigor! It was clear that she enjoyed this day. Linu of course listened intensely and carefully to everything, and was actually surprised that she managed to impress even Marcel. She knew the grouch, so that was a feat in of itself. Once they finally reached The Archive, they've exhausted themselves after that talk, so they exchanged their farewells for now, and each headed into their room. Phenomenon was greeted by an excited Aloha, whom she embraced as she bundled herself up on her bedding and stared into the night sky. She was filled with a sense of attainment. Not long after, she does off into a peaceful sleep, alongside her loving companion.

For the next five days, Phenomenon has been going back and forth from The Archive to the Apothecary. She's used the extensive lore and knowledge available to learn the most she can. Phenomenon's skill in alchemy has greatly increased, managing to master the more complicated recipes and experiments. She still has ways to go, but she's happy nonetheless to see improvement in herself.

She hasn't met with any other new dragons, other than the ones she interacts with, she hasn't approached or been approached any other dragon. Everyone she sees seems to be busy with their current occupation or duty. The most she'd see by The Archive is an imperial guard dressed in silver, but they've never exchanged words.

Final day:

Phenomenon knew it was time, she could already feel her spirit buzzing to move on and discover the rest of the world. She woke up that morning and began packing. When she got all her bearings, she headed towards the exit. She was met with Linu and Vulviing, who knew she would leave around this time, so they've prepared somethings for her to leave with and properly bid her a farewell. Food that will last her for a solid amount of time, a more detailed map of Sornieth, and some gold in the case she needs to purchase something. They made sure she had everything she needed for her arduous travels. After they've confirmed she was all set to go, they've bid their goodbyes, and hoped to meet each other again. And so, Phenomenon was off again, set out to explore more of this world, and to leave no stones unturned.
