- - - Yael didn't want to live in the Foxfire Bramble. He was an Ice dragon after all! As a hatchling, he dreamed of playing on the ice and making snowicewardens with his future children. However, fate had a different plan for him. During a great exalt battle between two flights, Yael was given to a Shadow clan as a thank you for helping. Yael was already a great fighter, so he was seen as a great gift to a clan in need of a new fighter. Still, it wasn't what he wanted for his life. He spent months refusing to help the clan in the Coliseum.

- - - When it came around to the Crystalline Gala, Yael stayed in his area of the clan and refused to see anyone. He dreamed of having a mate and children at this point in his life and wanted to celebrate the Gala with them. Two days into the Crystalline Gala, Skaldi and Lemon appeared by him. At their feet were the prizes you could get for the Holiday. The whole clan worked endlessly to get Yael the holiday's goodies because they knew how important it is to celebrate the flight's holiday. He looked around and there were icicles all around the clan. At least, he thought they were until he touched one and it was goop! The hatchlings in the clan took some of Shadowbinder's drool and painted it to look like icicles for Yael. That was when Yael realized he was home. There may not be ice around him every day of the year, but when it's the Crystalline Gala, it's perfect.
