Since his hatch day, Lemon has been an outsider. A bright yellow water fae stands out in a Shadow clan full of an array of dragon species--except for faes. The only other fae in the clan was the Empress, Skaldi, and she only cared for him until he was an adult and she had to move on to her own hatchlings. Not that it was her, or any one else's, fault that he was alone. No one in the clan had ever come across an egg that didn't come from one of their own nests. No one knew how to care for a baby that wasn't theirs, especially when he sounded like he had no emotions. The other dragons had come to expect that monotonous voice from their Empress, but not this strange yellow fae. Lemon spent most of his first year playing in Shadowbinder's Drool to look as purple and dark as his fellow clanmates.

It wasn't until a fellow Shadow clan sold Lemon an accent that he truly felt like he belonged in the Foxfire Bramble with everyone else. His yellow body had purple markings down his body and his thigh even displayed the Shadow emblem. To add to his Shadow garb, he got some purple claws from Baldwin, a dark cape, and a staff to show his Shadow pride.

As time past, clanmates came and went. For awhile, Lemon even had a mate! She was a lovely fae; the first fae he had ever come across like him with her coral body and wings with an ivory crackle. They had a few children together, but Leiloni wanted to fight for Shadowbinder and left Lemon to join her.

Lemon was content with being alone after that. He loved and had children he was proud of. He also joined a few of his fellow clanmates to start helping with gathering items since he was no warrior himself. Not too long after joining the gatherers, Misfit showed up. He was a dark coatl with piercing yellow eyes. Lemon rarely introduced himself to new clanmates, but this one was different. He had something in common with this dragon: neither of them fit in where they were born. Misfit was ridiculed for looking like a Shadow dragon by all of the Light dragons, so he moved to the Foxfire Bramble and Skaldi brought him in. That was when Lemon realized he was lucky; while his clanmates didn't know how to communicate with him well, they loved him like he was family. Because he was. Misfit quickly became his friend and together they become even weirder since coatls and fae usually don't communicate well together.

Due to Lemon's struggle with fitting in with the clan and his slow acceptance, Skaldi asked Lemon to help all newcomers adjust to the Foxfire Bramble. She couldn't understand what they were all going through since she and Monet were the ones to start this clan, but Lemon could be great. Lemon agreed on one condition: Misfit had to help him.

During his second Trickmurk Circus, he found a Gloomwillow Guide that chose to accompany him! This was the best day in his life; Gloomwillow Guides were finicky creatures who carefully picked their companions to be loyal to until the end. Only a handful of his clanmates found Guides and only a few of them were as lucky as him to be chosen.
