“Blessings upon you... and sweet dreams.” Meek and quiet by day, she ducks her head when any look at her, all concentration on her incense and its curling smoke. Her work around the temple - not her goddess, but that matters little to her - is completed diligently each day, but it's not until the sun begins to set that real enthusiasm sets in. She curls in her bed, freshly extinguished incense sending its last curling smoke eddying around the room, falls asleep - and then she walks. Her dreamscape is just as insubstantial as that swirling smoke, but she walks as easily as breathing. In places the smoke clears, revealing pools that ripple with color - a cool blue here, a blushing pink there, a burning orange spitting sparks in the distance. Each pool is familiar now, after months of these walks. In a good mood, she looks for those churning and splashing, dark and painful; with just a few bitter swallows from their depths they smooth and clear, nightmares soundly devoured. On a worse day... she drinks greedily from a pool bubbling happily away, until nothing remains of their good dreams but a few thready wisps of feeling. That's why she can't meet anyone's eyes in the daytime, of course - she knows their darkest dreams and sweetest longings, and that's a secret she'd prefer to keep to herself. ☼ SHAEL (a Light priestess) Though Evoryn's beliefs do not match Shael's faith, she is happy enough to work in her temple, sending up her own prayers in smoke after the Light services.
