An avid worshipper of Arcane magic and lore, Meyne was blinded at birth to suit his role as a priest of the Arcanist, in following the traditions laid down by priests before him. Gifted in magic of all sorts, Meyne was on his way to becoming a promising guildmaster of the Arcane priesthood when one of his children perished at the hands of a Shadow clan who suddenly attacked. Distraught over the loss of one of his own flesh and blood, Meyne fled his former clan to find refuge elsewhere.

He found it in Shi'Kahr, though the temple he lodged in offered a warier welcome than the rest of the clan courtesy of its Light priestess, Shael. While the temple ostensibly served all the gods, the Lightweaver understandably held pride of place, and her priestess remained rather territorial about it even in the face of Meyne's assurances that he had no intention of changing that.

Meyne's endeavour to prove himself trustworthy - and perhaps to open Shael's mind along the way - certainly did not bear fruit overnight. But its eventual rewards (long hours of fervent debate, quieter spans of time working in silence to better the temple, a love born of mutual understanding and hard-earned trust) were certainly worth it.

♥ SHAEL (his wife) Feeling he was infringing on her temple and worship, Meyne's presence was grating to Shael at first, but she has grown to appreciate his quiet strength and his own kind of devotion.

♡ VAIKAYA (his son) Meyne and Shael worry endlessly for him, one or the other leaving in the free time between their duties to search for him.

♥ SHAYA (his daughter) Meyne loves that his daughter chose to follow a similarly spiritual path, though he sometimes frets that she spends too much time alone.

♥ ELVELAN (his daughter) Meyne is relieved that his daughter has found the direction in her life that she sought, but worries that her experiments - mostly on herself - could backfire one day. He does all he can to encourage her to seek out others in her craft and learn from them.

✒ A MIDNIGHT KISS Going to bed at midnight is actually early for Meyne.
