Born to a devout Light clan, Ezra was always enchanted by the rituals and rites that took place there. The sweet-smelling incense, the bright candles, the chants and songs... they filled his head for hours afterward, and he often found himself scribbling endless pages of notes on the patterns, the symbolism, the hidden meanings. Why was it this rune, this gesture that allowed their calls to reach the Lightweaver, or persuaded Her that they were worthy of Her gifts?

The priests and priestesses of his birth clan answered as many questions as they could, but so much was truly ritual - done that way because their predecessors had, and it continued to work. Mind still swirling with questions, Ezra set off to the Beacon for answers. There he found many other scholars, searching for the same kinds of answers - and to his surprise, not all sought the Lightweaver's influence. He compared notes with Wind mages, Plague healers, others seeking the voices of their deities - and the parallels between them, those few inconsistencies that made all the difference, they thrilled him like nothing else.

The only answer he's found? That he'll never be satisfied if he stops searching.

♥ AITHEMIS (his husband) Aithemis is the firebrand to Ezra's calm, and is also only one who can bring Ezra out of his reveries.

♡ SHAAN (his son) While Ezra is on better terms with their son than his husband is, Ezra still finds himself struggling to help him escape the self-destructive spiral he's in.

★ SAKKHET (the clan's librarian) Ezra is a frequent patron of her archives, both reading and contributing to most of the religious works there.
