- Sasha Braus (サシャ・ブラウス) is a member of the Scout Regiment and one of the few former members of the 104th Cadet Corps, of which she was graduated placing 9th out of the top 10. Along with her adept capabilities with the military's 3-Dimensional Maneuver Gear, Sasha is also a proficient hunter, and wields the bow and arrow with expert skill, enough to take down and blind a titan with said weapon. Furthermore, her tracking skills and adept hearing, of which were honed from her childhood hunting days, have saved herself and her comrades from dire situations many times throughout the story, making her an indispensable member of her group. She is also one of the only known individuals to have taken down a titan without any specialized weaponry or gear. A compulsive food hoarder once with an overly polite way of speech (which was revealed to her attempts to suppress her provincial accent out of embarrassment), Sasha originates from Dauper, a village in the southern territory of Wall Rose. She later decides to speak more freely after rescuing a child from her hometown from a titan. Through Ymir and Historia's persuasion, Sasha reverts back to speaking in her stronger southern accent and to speaking her mind more freely among her friends once more. Among the former 104th squad and the current Scouting Legion, Sasha maintains good ties with all of her comrades, in particular with Jean, Ymir and Historia, and most especially with Connie Springer. She shares a close relationship with Connie, and is often seen embarking on shenanigans (and getting into trouble) with the boy. With her prowess and skill, Sasha eventually becomes one the prominent members of the Scouting Legion, and for a period of time was employed to protect Historia after she revealed her true identity to the Legion, and she continues to fight alongside her comrades and what remains of their group. Forced by Eren's hand, Sasha, along with the rest of the Scouting Legion, participated in the the invasion against Marley, closely working alongside with her long-time comrades and the newer members of the division. While most fought with standard-issued gear and participated in close combat, Sasha was given a special role, and, while working alongside Connie, fought as a sniper for her comrades. With their combined skills and years of combat experience, the Scouting Legion of Paradis won. Sasha, along with the rest of her comrades, successfully made their escape through a stolen airship and made their way home, eager for a grand meal to look forward to. Sadly, that was not to be the case, as while making their escape, a certain pair of stowaways had managed to sneak into their airship, barely noticed by its passengers. This was with the exception of Sasha, however, who had heard them and had promptly raised her suspicions. However, it was to be too late for the Hunter, as one of the said stowaways, upon entering the ship, had immediately opened fire in the airship, her shots indiscriminately landing a fatal blow upon the Soldier. With the lack of proper medical equipment on board, Sasha eventually bled out to death, thus resulting in one of the largest losses to her friends and division, both literally and emotionally. Her legacy continues to live on in many aspects of the story, and her contributions and the person she was continues to be remembered by many to this day. |
