Biography
Slaughtercress
He's a laid back and friendly person, always willing to talk if someone else is. His name and size are the only scary things about him. He's not very book smart since he's spent most of his life working for a living instead of studying, but he is very knowledgeable about his trades and about dealing with people. Many of his friendships are through his job, so while he's not exceptionally close with most, he knows a wide range of people and always seems to remember his last conversation with someone even if it took place years ago. Slaughtercress wants the best for everyone and always has an encouraging word. He and Cardamaim are work friends and he collaborated with her on jobs in the past before inviting her to join the clan.
Avantoe and Wergali are his best friends and his spouses and there's no one he's closer with than them. Avantoe is often away but the three of them are always in contact. Before settling down they explored the world together and did their time battling the Shade. Slaughtercress gets along with most anyone in the lair and with his battle experience he has helped train up a bunch of them. His reaction times aren't as fast as a smaller, more cunning dragon's, and he's glad there are now others who have stepped in to fill his place in Shade defense, leaving him to focus on construction. Because of this he's looked up to fondly, but he's much happier not being in leadership positions.

While he was born a wind dragon, Slaughtercress spent much of his early life in the Shifting Expanse's lightning farms, supporting himself by working various construction jobs while still deciding which trade he would like make a career out of. Electronics never quite made sense to him and management tended to be more than he could handle, but he took to tunneling and masonry immediately, two skill sets always in demand as the farms continue to extend their reach farther and farther underground. While he no longer lives in lightning territory, he continues to commute to work daily, usually returning to the Shifting Expanse or to other regions where work has been lined up. He loves building and tunneling and he's glad he can do them for a living. Slaughtercress built and excavated the lair himself, and continues to add on to it as more space is needed for new clan members. Magebane is always willing to help smooth out portions Slaughtercress is too large to complete himself, and they enjoy the excuse to bond over a project together. As someone who spends so much of his life underground contemplating rocks, it's not surprising that Slaughtercress' devotion lies with the Earthshaker first and foremost. |
