Agamat Demontius is an only child. When his parents bore only one egg, they feared it would bear a weakling, but he emerged strong and perfect, and the Ritual of Acceptance only empowered him futher. He soon ascended the ranks of the Contagion Strain, earning himself a place among the High Priests at a quite young age. When Agamat Cheogh stepped down from his throne, Demontius proved himself worthy of taking up his position as a new leader, and with the Filthy One's blessing, he now rules the clan.

Not all clan members approve of his leadership, some feeling that Cheogh's rule had not been ended by death and is therefore still valid, but Cheogh himself considers Demontius a rightful leader. Some would also rather see an older, experienced member lead; however Demontius is well-studied in the histories of the clan and values the old members' words greatly, so in the end, everybody wins. And besides, in times of imminent danger, sowing discontent throughout the clan is the last thing any clan member wants to do.
