Biography:
Coyote is the local pub owner as well as bartender. Coyote tends his bar, which can be found on Tier Two of the Quarry. Coyote's establishment, the Scoundrel's Taphouse, is the most prominent inn and eatery in the Quarry and is the first stop for most adventurers. The Tap, as it is known, is Coyote's pride and joy. Within it, Coyote hosts all sorts of things from raucous celebrations to the most modest evening. The taphouse once had a rookery above it that housed the Quarry's mail service, but when the Postmaster disappeared, those duties fell to others. Many of the Postmaster's crows still make the Tap their home, however. The crows like to perch on high and watch the passersby.
Coyote is a clever little man with some knowledge of his own brand of light magic. Coyote's magic, though of Light, is specially formulated to hide what is true. Coyote is exceptional at remaining unnoticed if he wants to. Coyote can make himself rather translucent, but he doesn't bother using his magic at night because it will make him glow. Coyote's magic is good for card tricks too. Mostly, however, Coyote has only kept his skills from deteriorating too badly rather than honing them.
Coyote is a mostly retired pilferer and thief, having grown to be quite the expert in the the arts of picking (Pockets and locks) as well as con games. Coyote is good people though. Even if he used to be some little urchin, he's made himself a good life in the Quarry and Coyote doesn't want to jeapordize the only good home he's ever had. He still likes reveling in the shenanigans of his patrons sometimes though. Occasionally he brushes off the old cavalier and goes for a spell to knock the rust off of his skills, but he hasn't pulled any daring heists for a while.
Coyote has learned many of his physical and charm skills from Mecca when she was his mentor. Coyote as turned her teachings into his own style, though, and has made them into more than what they were. Coyote learned more than how to talk from Mecca though. Coyote has also learned how to listen and how to be humble, a skill that most never quite master.
Ryzolli and Coyote often conspire to work together on joint economic ventures. Coyote gives Ryzolli and his crews a discount and Ryzolli's crew brings in all sorts of valuable goods and customers alike. Coyote's eyes and ears among the clan's poor have proven, at times, to be useful as well.
Coyote seems to be an object of Shaw's attention. Shaw, being a mercenary, head hunter, and a soldier, had originally come to the clan to collect on Coyote if he was worth anything, but Coyote proved to be too interesting of a person and the Quarry proved to be quite attractive to the vagabond. Since Shaw's settling down in the Quarry, Coyote and Shaw have actually grown to be pretty good acquaintances.
Long ago, when Coyote was but a boy, and before he had left the Sunbeam Ruins, he had been intimate with a darling from the Viridian Labyrinth. This first love of Coyote left him with the name Dandelion as well as his own name. Coyote awaits the day when he hears it again.
