Bones

Bones is the Quarry's head surgeon and expert pathologist. He has worked as and traveling doctor throughout the Scarred Wasteland and its bordering regions. Bones vaccinated many thousands of individuals in his years in the Wasteland, as well as operating on all sorts of injuries and wounds. The Scarred Wasteland demands the best out of surgeons and Bones survived. Then Bones was injured by a flying accident, crippling the wing and back leg on one side. After that, Bones lost about everything he had except his bones. But, even those were broken.

Bones lost what he loved most, the ability to travel and heal, but he has found something akin to his dream in the Quarry. He can be a doctor, but his leg gives him a limp and chronic pain. As well as this, Bones cannot fly with only one functional wing. Bones has become more of a cynic and has locked away many of his emotions over the years because of this all. Bones is fearful of stretching his horizons in case he gets hurt further. He hides this, of course, but is likely the origin of Bone's locally famous phrase, "I'm a doctor, not a (some other field of knowledge)!" Sometimes, Bones begins his phrase with something profane.

Bones has few friends in the Quarry due to his abrasiveness, but he has gained a few nonetheless. It can be difficult to get through his sarcastic, sometimes cruel, exterior, but what is underneath could be rewarding some day.

Bones is a teacher and employer of Mara, a prospective mage specializing in restorative magic. Mara helps in the Clinic when she can to learn more about illness and anatomy.

Bones dislikes Stein very much. Bones considers Stein, if nothing else more colourful, as a freak. Stein essentially amounts to a Zombie, and this confounds, but simultaneously interests, the logistical Bones. That is, of course, not mentioning Bones' cultural aversion to Necromancy as a Plague dragon.
