Cove was born on the borderlands of Plague and Water. As a hatchling, she heard many grand tales of pirates and corsairs on the nearby Sea. These tales delighted and inspired a sense of adventure in her. She held no ill feelings towards the Deity of her birth, but found the call of the Sea too alluring to resist. So she made herself a small raft of driftwood and set forth on her journey.

Of course a small raft consisting of a log and three branches roughly tied together with seaweed was not the most reliable of transportation, and she soon found herself with the log alone. Luckily she was spotted by one of the clans members before anything too dangerous could happen, and happily joined the clan.

She met Thief while at the Auction House, where the bold younger dragon had tried to steal the bauble from the end of her tail. Amused by his boldness, she named him Thief, and brought him back to the clan.

The two got along splendidly, both delighted to teach one another their skills at stealing. Most of the time they can be found traveling out together on a small boat, taking turns flying out and stealing what they can find, then returning to store their riches on the boat.

When they are back in the Caverns most of the clan tries not to ask too many questions as to where their loot came from, though Azriel can get quite stern with them. After a few too many times when items or treasure has gone amiss he gave the pair a good thrashing, and warned them that if they stole from the clan again or endangered the clan with their stealing, they would no longer have a home there. Since the incident the pair has ceased all attempts to 'relocate' the belongings of their clanmates, and spend much of their time whispering conspiratorially amongst themselves.
