Biography

Mithros
pale grey mist
Stag Figurine
Maple Leaf
Fragile Antler

Strong-winged, sure-footed and swift as a storm, Mithros has spent most of his life in the role of a scout, messenger or guide - whichever was in most demand at the time. He wasn't born into a clan, and had no plans to join one, so he sold his services to whoever paid best.

On his last job, which was to escort a group safely through the Shifting Expanse during a border dispute, Mithros became much closer than usual with one of his charges. His charge's dreams of starting a clan once the conflict was resolved became infectious, and he promised to help fulfil them. Unfortunately, the conflict escalated into a battle for dominance while they were still in contested territory, and Mithros was separated from the group and gravely injured. By the time he was healthy enough to travel again, he could find no trace of his charges. Exhausted, disheartened, and disillusioned with his life, Mithros took to wandering around aimlessly, barely stopping for food or rest. He continued on in this way until he found himself lost in a seemingly endless bramble patch, and finally laid down among the thorns in defeat. They seemed to embrace him, he thought, enclosing him in a featureless, comforting darkness.

At the time, Mithros would have been pleased to stay there, but he was roused from unconsciousness by a breeze that seemed to come from no direction at all, carrying with it a stray maple leaf and the scent of roses. He followed it, mostly believing he was dreaming, until it led him to a wooded valley filled with the ruins of a once-great manor. It had obviously been left to be overtaken by wild roses for ages, and even the hardy vines were dying in the unnatural dark, but there was shelter and food to be found, so he stayed.

In the restful days that followed, he made a new purpose for himself: He would find those like himself, who had no home to return to and found themselves lost, and lead them to safety and shelter.

Mithros still searched for his lost companions sometimes, and it was on one of these journeys that he came upon a little dragon who seemed oddly familiar to him - though far too young to be anyone he knew. Naming her 'Litheria' for where he found her, he intended to find a more suitable home for her, but she steadfastly refused to leave his side. Stubborn and frustrating and absolutely charming, he's accepted her as an apprentice, and enjoys spoiling and teasing her in equal measure. Still, as she grows older he finds something about her increasingly uncanny, though he wouldn't dare mention it to her.
