Cleric of the Lightweaver
| Wise | Powerful | Caring |
Solstice appeared mysteriously one day while Murkpaw was returning from The Mire with the latest young dragons eager to meet the Arcanist whom they were to serve under. The trio was attacked by a Beastclan ambush. Murkpaw dismissed the precious Exaltations and stayed to defend their retreat but was nearly overrun. Solstice saved her life and healed her wounds with wondrous light magic, the likes had not been recorded by the clan researchers. When they arrived home to the Focal Point together, the others were just about to leave on a rescue mission, luckily it was not needed. Solstice has remained with Clan Quills and states she is an Ambassador of the Light. She is quiet and calm and keeps to herself. She has piqued the interest of many of the other dragons. Though Murkpaw wishes to learn more, she has kept her distance thus far. Her magic allows her to sacrifice herself for those she heals, a part of her semi-immortal life for theirs. Like the sun after the summer solstice she is named for she slowly wanes, but her life was blessed by the Lightweaver herself, and she does not mind sharing what she has so those she cares for can live. |
May the light illuminate your path.

I started dying the day I met her...
The golden-winged Tundra felt the cool breeze ruffle her plush fur as the sun beamed down from above. She had always been blessed with something more, something none of the others in the Sunbeam Ruins could understand even with their illuminating intellect. So her pilgrimage had begun, sometimes plodding and sometimes flying, but always searching for where she belonged and someone who perhaps had an answer. As she poured over the thoughts of her long life and mysterious powers she heard a commotion from below, a battle was raging...
Not a battle ... a massacre ...
A single Tundra was fending off an onslaught of Serthis that had beset them as two smaller dragons flitted away. The snakes struck again and again, tearing fur and scale from the defending dragon. There was no way they weren't poisoned by now. Solstice made a decision and dove into the fray with a spell that unleashed a burning flash of light. Several Serthis that had already been scarred with icy slashes from their target fled immediately. The others would take more.
"In the name of The Lightweaver, I command you to yield and parlay!" Her voice echoed out like chimes over the small clearing. The Serthis readied sword and fang for another attack.
"The hard way then," Solstice's voice had turned dark and honey sweet. The Tundra behind her slumped to the ground and the world gave way to a bright darkness...

The dark Tundra slowly roused herself, bandages covered her wounds and she felt sluggish, but was very much alive. There was a cheery fire nearby and a golden Tundra silhouetted against it. "Who ... who are you? Thank you ... for helping me. Did ... did you see if the others escaped?"
Solstice looked over her shoulder, her figure hidden by the flickering light of the fire in front of her.
"They are safe and on their way to your home clan, I presume. You need time to rest before you can move. There was a great deal of poison in your body and if any remains it will only reach your heart faster if you move. Please, rest for now. I will see you home in the morning."
Murkpaw settled her head down, content that her trainees were safe and she wasn't dead thanks to the mysterious stranger. It was moments before she slept again in a deep, dreamless, healing slumber.
Solstice looked down at her paws, they dripped with blood and poison. Her magical capacity was nearly halved after saving the life of another. It was only going to shorten from there on out. Parts of her life for the lives of others.
I started dying the day I met her, and I have no regrets.
