Biography

m29-04-book.pngT16.png Hook's Notes:

Minerva is a Witch, one of the two clan Witches, actually, but they should not be confused, because they share a title, but not roles. I am not actually sure why they don't have different titles, because it would make a lot more sense. Anyway, Minerva is the sort of "local witch," the kind you go to for remedies and baby predictions, and who knows all about herbs and stuff. She's not actually "magical." BluLily, the second Witch, is the magic sort of Witch. She- well, actually, I'll go into that later when I write about her.

Minerva is a very eccentric character; she is always singing, for one thing, and is pretty scatter-brained. Sniffs too many herbs, probably. She also really loves cats, as every typical witch seems to. She never has many of them around, though, because... well this is a bit of a story. She has this thing for Bog, see. None of us are sure if he knows, and pretends like he doesn't, or if he truly is so involved in his brewing, that he thinks she's always hanging around his place just because she wants to borrow his cauldrons. The thing is, because she is always hanging around his place, and because she has somehow not yet learned to leave her cats at home, he is always accidentally turning them into... other things. Some things are recognizable, and some are... not. At all. No one has any idea what they are. Bog is very good at turning things into other things, but he is not very good at telling you what they are after. So, Minerva has a lot of Things, and not a lot of cats. She keeps getting more though.

Poor cats.

oKTlA9t.pngUpdate #1:
The most recent development in the saga of Bog and Minerva, is that we have all found out that Bog has been having an affair with Brisis. Can it be called an affair when neither of them were actually involved with anyone else at the moment? But they kept it a secret, which I think makes it an Affair. Also I really shipped Bog and Minerva.

Minerva is, of course, heartbroken. To complicate matters, she and Brisis are both a part of the Sammankomst, because even though Minerva can't do magic, they feel obliged to include her. Also, they say her herboligy knowledge comes in handy sometimes. It has yet to be seen if Minerva will be able to get over her new found hatred for Brisis, and attend the next meeting. I am thinking that if she does go, something will definitely Go Down.

Update #2:
After several agonized weeks, Minerva finally broke down in a fit of tears and told Bog of her great affection, and how she was sorry that she hadn't said anything before, because in the stories everyone just sort of Knows, instinctively, when someone is in love with them, and she had just figured that that was how it happened. He was quite taken aback, and I think a little overwhelmed by the tears, but after a few days to process and think, he has apologized for his actions and his blindness, ended things with Brisis (it was on and off with them anyway), and he and Minerva are now courting; very cautiously, her because she is still feeling rather delicate, and him because he honestly has no idea what he is doing, but courting none the less, and I must say that I am very pleased with this turn of events.

P.S. In a sudden spirit of goodwill spurred on by her elation of having Found Love, Minerva has forgiven Brisis all her grievances (though the clan now has several more that it continues to hold against her), and has returned to the Sammankomst. It is unknown whether or not Brisis appreciates this, as she never seemed bothered by Minerva's loathing, or her absence in the meetings. She doesn't usually seem bothered by anything that anyone says or does, actually. She is rather stuck up. The others, however, are very glad to have her back. They say that despite her eccentrics, they rather missed her. Also, she is of course very helpful when it comes to herbs.

Update #3:
Bog and Minerva are officially a pair. Their children run wild all over the place, and drive everyone crazy, as their parents seem to lack all control over them. I think they're hilarious, and pretty adorable, in a very impish sort of way, though I have turned down several requests to babysit them. There's no way I'm going to be anyway responsible for any of their antics.

Minerva has still not learned her lesson about the cats, but so far, Bog has managed to keep any children from entering his brews. We will see how long he can hold this record.
