Naiyo

Naiyo Optical Physicist Naiyo is a keen-eyed and scientific dragon who seems obsessed with building little devices the clan doesn't understand. She constantly complains at the lack of tools and delicate equipment at her disposal, though she also enthuses about the light at Driftwood Island, which is also a little baffling. Like Zukyem, she is hard to get to know around the overwhelming focus on her studies, and many can see in it a Guardian's obsession with their Charge, even if Naiyo still can't.

History:
Naiyo was an orphan dragon raised by a clan on the high plateaux of Light, and only left when the itch of the Search became too great. She was approached by Anthem in the Shifting Expanse, and agreed to travel with him in exchange for the glittering scrolls he offered. It was his decision to settle at Driftwood Shore, but one which she has found agreeable. Their arrival coincided with the clan's celebration of the end of the Swords War, and aside from thoroughly enjoying the party Naiyo has never had the slightest interest in learning about the clan's sordid past.

Physical:
A fairly average Guardian, Naiyo is not particularly attractive nor powerful. Her elemental nature is quite muted (perhaps through her association with Light), and manifests mostly through her personality. She has short wings which lend to a fast, adaptable style of flying that Naiyo is rather good at, and she prefers to fly rather than to walk. Nayio is a good swimmer for her element, and can hold her breath for some time.

Familiar: Anthem gifted her this statue as somewhat of a joke; one of the aimless golems he pulled up from the bottom of the reef. Naiyo however has found it very useful, as it does as its told and will quietly stand for hours, days, or weeks holding her devices steady and in perfect position.

Anthem: The large, mysterious Guardian is a constant source of both entertainment and annoyance. Though his charm is undeniable and his physical attentions pleasing, Nayio does not particularly consider him her 'mate'. He is a strange delightful companion; one she both trusts completely and does not trust at all.

Offspring: Naiyo does not have time to be a mother of any sort, and while she can be convinced to be nest partners to others (particularly Anthem) she has little maternal feelings towards any of her offspring and relies on Aucanor or anyone else with a parental drive to take care of the eggs once they are laid.
