Tiukis

Tiukis - As a Nocturne, Tiukis subconsciously reflects the manners and modes of those he is around. Fortunately, he tends to reflect that which people find most pleasing about themselves. This makes him a very pleasant person to be around and he is one of the more popular young members of the clan. Far from using this unconscious social manipulation to his advantage, Tiukis is an active and easily-distracted dragon with a burning passion for knowledge that diverts him from most conversations, making him much more likely to be found with his beak in a book than at any social gathering. Tiukis is constantly hankering after new knowledge, and has already read every book in Driftwood Shore's meagre collection at least once. He has intense and enthusiastic conversations with the more scientifically-inclined dragons at the Shore, particularly Naiyo and also Sonyee, who is the only dragon he will argue loudly with, their debates echoing across the jungle.

History: Tiukis was a product of the first Night of The Nocturne, coming to Driftwood Shore in the early days of the Swords War. He spent the entirety of the War and its aftermath inside his egg, hatching a full cycle later when the conflict had passed. His long-awaited arrival was hailed as a sign of new beginnings, and he marks the start of a new cycle and a generation of dragons who know only peace and plenty.

Physical: Tiukis has thickly pebbled, almost stone-like skin. The origins of this trait are unknown, so possibly it may just be naturally developed. He has long, flexible wings and is an agile glider, using small rapid wingbeats and sharp swoops to change direction. He uses his wings on the ground less than other Nocturnes; his other limbs are sturdy and can support his entire weight. Tiukis doesn't dislike water but he is a poor swimmer, and he is most comfortable in the air or on land.

Although his eyes are orange, Tiukis is almost an elemental void. To those able to perceive such things he is almost indistinguishable from creatures with a neutral element; a property which is somewhat unnerving in a dragon. He is unable to use Fire magic or indeed any elemental magic, though the theory of it fascinates him.

Familiar: Tiukis has yet to acquire a familiar.

Musca: The stately Guardian is Tiukis' main source for education and reading material. It's common to see the Nocturne hunched over a book in the corner of her cave when visiting her. Although he's starting to realise he has reached the limits of what she can teach him Tiukis is very respectful of the clan teacher and will not directly correct or challenge her. Around her he is calmer, reflecting her own poise and sense of order.

Kessr: Musca's daughter Kessr is very different to her mother, and even though she essentially brooded Tiukis as an egg his relationship with her is less familial and more like distant old friends. Tiukis is always concerned for the Guardian but knows not to crowd her too much with his company. Around her he is more direct, clear, and less friendly towards others. They do not speak often, but Tukis makes sure to keep in contact with her.

Offspring: Tiukis finds raising eggs to be an interesting experience; a process of learning both for him and his children. Once they reach adulthood though he's a little unsure how to relate to them. Notable among his offspring are Liiulay and Elluo; the wildly unlikely almost-twins who inherited his stony hide.
