Biography

Isril
Smallest Warrior
12271.png
Isril is Driftwood Shore's deadliest fighter, somehow, though he is fragile and prone to immediately being forced from battle, wounded by a direct hit. It's hard to see exactly how he fights: He flick-flickers between enemies, at times not seeming like a Fae at all. Indeed, in Isril's dreams he is massive: as long as a whale and with wings that darken the sea floor. He is clearly not a hatchling but has no memory of where he came from; everything is obscured like the clouded midnight of the Leviathan Trench.

Despite this he is a meek and friendly dragon, having the uncanny ability to inflect his speech with tone and rhythm, unlike the rest of his species. He is never quite sure how to behave around other dragons but tries his best, following gladly the ideas and impetus of others. He's gained a reputation as something of a doormat, and despite his fighting skill finds little respect. He has few friends, though nobody really dislikes him as such.

Isril's hat is the only thing he seems to display any strong emotions about, wearing it with constant satisfaction. If it's taken from him, however, he merely looks crestfallen and will continue to plaintively ask for it back until someone with more charisma (usually Pin) steps in and smacks the offender in his stead.

History: Isril came to the clan in a daze, not really knowing who he was or where he'd been. His time with the clan has been one of faltering self-discovery, though his unnatural fighting ability was clear and present from the start. During the Swords War he had very little influence on the direction of the battle, merely applying his weird speed and power where directed.

Physical: Isril is exceedingly small even by Fae standards, not even breaking half a metre. As a consequence he's often hard for other dragons to spot when he is not on the wing. When in flight, he moves with surprising agility, in a swooping flight that resembles that of a small, graceful bird. In water he swims in an awkward lizard fashion, or uses his furled wings to create a crude form of pulse propulsion like a crystal jellyfish.
I think I might be a shapeshifter.
594.png Familiar:
Much larger than he is, the curious bird seems to have taken a liking to Isril, and follows him about when he is on land, striding serenely back and forth and stealing bugs from the food pile. Isril doesn't know what to make of the rare bird's attentions, and its presence makes him nervous.

Kin & Others
Pin is Isril's anchor. Without her, he would be fully alone in the clan. The other Fae is the opposite of Isril in many ways and he follows her powerful will happily. The two Water Fae are often seen as a duo, conversing with flickering fins. They share a nest frequently and their relationship would be called 'mates' if that word didn't imply a certain equality which is not present.

Offspring:
Sillin is Isril's clan-living daughter, though she is more than three times his size and shares very little in common with him. He has several other unexalted children, all Fae, whom he has never met nor spoken with. Most notable of these are Lir, who drifted away to the Star Wood Strand, and the strange, sinister sea witch of the bright east Psamathe.
