The original founder of the Hollow Kingdom. Early clan history states he was the first to settle in the crevices of the Cairnstone Rest and navigate its caverns. A thief by nature, but a mapmaker by heart, he grew a small following of quaint but satisfied clan mates around this saying; 'Gold, silver, bronze and stone; but the hearth light makes my true treasures home'.
At some point during his exploration, the Hollow revealed to him an expertly carved throne made of obsidian. He visited three times; the first he left a reed upon it's seat. The second, his sword, and the third his pearl. The Hollow rumbled, acknowledging the First King. He reigned for fourty-eight years, bringing commerce and trade to it's borders, and established the first records of navigation throughout the cavern. This is known as the Age of Fire among historians and scribes. However peaceful in its heyday, his reign ended abruptly and mournfully. When he tried to place his own son upon the seat of the king, the Hollow made a keening sound unlike that that had ever been witnessed before. Baffled, he ruminated on it that evening, unknown to him that his son, stung by his homeland's rejection, had snuck off into the Hollow vowing to earn his place by exploring further into the caverns that not even his own father had ever ventured before. Three days passed with no word. Heartbroken, Wander struck his name from the walls of the Hollow, forsaking his home and family. He made his way down the same path his son was last seen taking, promising bring his family home. He never returned. His true name remains highly contested and discussed among Hollow natives claiming to be his descendant to this day, whereas the pathway has been named The Last Bend. It remains forbidden to walk it. His pearl sits amongst the treasures of gold and ore in the Hollow. Many have said they've seen it appear at random, moving from room to room with no assistance. Efforts to contain it has proven useless, and most accept it as the true Heart of the Hollow. It is passed down through each reigning king, and is most commonly seen in the Tomb of Kings, the Throne Room, or the Den of Dreams. I'll find you and bring you back to us..... |
