 Personality Real big piece of garbage. Like, huge piece of living trash. He cares about approximately three people; Jim, Tacitus, and Magna. Maybe Siren, sometimes? Either way. He has just about as much empathy as a crocodile, and is just about as murdery, too. He was a mercenary because the job coincided with his hobbies. He is much less patient than he seems and pretty easy to frazzle. In the confines of his own home, he gets his kicks by pestering Jim, and he loves getting reactions out of people in more ways than one (mostly violent). Surprisingly good with children, but only if they're his. He almost threatened a toddler for pushing his kid, once. Early Years The only pearlcatcher amidst his siblings. Kinda weird, don't you think? Especially when his father was a mirror and his mother was a ridgeback. And their best mutual friend was a pearlcatcher. Kind of suspicious, huh. He grew up with three sisters of varying ages, and was the second oldest of all his siblings. His mother and sisters succumbed to a plague fairly early on, so his father, Durante, raised him. Lurk spent a lot of his childhood around Major, training to become a guard. He was a rather asocial child, steering clear of group activities or other kids in general. A bit of a bully to his peers when they pushed for interaction. Trivia He is banned from the arcane capital, for reasons he won't speak of. Trivia Moved to the light region to become a mercenary. A mercenary specifically, so he could be paid to satisfy his own sick hedonistic desires. Namely murder. He met Jim whilst taking work there, and took on two jobs for him. The first ended well, and though he absolutely despised Jim he decided to take on a second job. Mistakes were made, and after an altercation with three shades stuffed into one body, he came out of the deal with one less arm. He was also briefly infected by the shade, but that ordeal was resolved relatively quickly. Trivia Lurk went to live with Jim "under observation" after his encounter with the shade. After a while, they grew to (sort of) tolerate each other, and eventually they came to terms with the fact that they were both weirdly into the other person. Due to his family, Jim got stuck with taking in a charge to raise. He and Lurk slowly grew to treating the boy, Tacitus, like a son. After another incident some time later, Lurk ended up with a second kid, Magna. Job Description Lurk works as an interrogator of sorts. He's told whether his "client" has information to be extracted, or if they're to be made into an example for their associates, then Lurk goes to town on them. He thoroughly enjoys his job, and his favorite days are when he gets to extract information from someone. When he makes an example of a person, it's messy and horrific, but generally quick. Getting information means he gets to take his time. He likes to take his time. HOARD
