First Generation Female-and proud of it!

Duskshadow is the mother of the clan. She was the dragon who started it all, and even though she only actually has a few of the dragons she can claim as direct offspring, they all look to her as their leader and mentor. She is gentle by nature, but there is steel underneath her surface--as any beings who challenge her in the coliseum are quick to discover. Like all Guardians of the Clan she is fascinated with the magic inherent in moments "between" others, and takes her name from one such moment. There is a beauty and a wonder in those times when something is neither one thing or the other... neither day nor night, light nor dark...

Considering her place as the leader of an Arcane Clan, it is perhaps no surprise that when an Arcane Sprite happened upon the lair and chose to stay she naturally migrated to Duskshadow's side. The two are inseparable, and Fantasia has even taught Duskshadow how to read the more obscure texts... bringing the mother of the lair much closer to her adopted Ridgeback offspring, and to her granddaughter Corona.

10-7-14: Fantasia, her Arcane Sprite, has Awakened! Filled with energy and potential, she is more than ready to take her place as Duskshadow's assistant in helping with all aspects of life in Clan, and Duskshdow is thrilled that her friend has reached full maturity at last.

11-29-14: During the Rockbreaker's Ceremony, a number of dragons went "missing," and Duskshadow sent out several others to round them up, while she headed into the Festival Grounds to look for one particular dragon herself, and ended up getting caught up in an intriguing game as a result… ( )

12-1-14: After a little delay, the friendly Imperial at the stall and his family began to help with the stones, resulting in a happy Fireopal finding an Ambush, Merlin getting a Scroll Case--which he seems to think will aid him in organizing his Astrology charts--and Duskshadow finding a beautiful heart of jade to add to the hoard... ( )

And so it looks like Duskshdaw had a good time at the Festival after all, and since all the missing dragons returned to the camp (eventually), the Clan can definitely count this Rockbreaker’s Ceremony as successful… ( )

12-28-14: While battling in the Coliseum, Duskshadow, Moondust, and Twilight found a Strange Chest... and upon opening it received a pleasant surprise. The little egg hatched to reveal a living Nocturne female.... who instantly wormed her way into the hearts of the two parents of the lair. Duskshadow is thrilled to have another daughter at last, and Moondust is quite proud of his little princess....

2-25-15: The Trickmurk Circus has caused an, er, sensation this year, with the advent of an "accidental" Prank War with the clan's friends from Teeka's Clan in Plague Flight. What started out as a simple matter has quickly swept the whole Clan up, though with differing results... ( , , , )

2-26-15: In answer to the mechanical bug prank, Dukshadow went to Runemaster for help. He came up with something that certainly got the Clan's annoyance across quite nicely, and Duskshadow is more than satisfied with the results. Whether or not the other Clan agrees is, of course, another matter entirely.... ( , )

8-27-15: As Clan Mother of such a varied bunch of Clanmates and children, Duskshadow often has to spend a great deal of time tracking down wayward dragons, and reminding them of their duties, especially during Festival time. This does, not, however, mean, that she is not willing to play herself from time to time, and one of these times just so happened to appear unexpectedly at this year’s Flameforger’s Festival, while she was looking for her missing daughter and Coliseum partner, Twilight… ( , , )

2-27-16: The Trickmurck Circus is always an exciting time, and none more so than the Trickmurk Parade! Duskshadow was actually able to watch a bit of the end of the Parade this year, while gathering up her scattered Clanmates, and received a pleasant surprise: One of the dragons on a large Float dropped his Marigold Flower Crown almost directly at her feet. She would be worried, except for the fact that he clearly had no idea--or interest in--where it landed.... ( , )

11-4-17: Dusksahdow is becoming extremely worried about the actions of one of her Clanmates. Or rather, about the actions of his chosen familiars...and the actions of other familiars in the Clan that Riddle has an interest in.

It is not the practice, in the Clan, to force a familiar bond upon an unwilling partner. This is something the whole Clan knows, and is supposed to accept. It seems, however, that Riddle may have been ignoring this rule--perhaps from the first moment he stepped foot into the caves of the Clan. His very first familiar, a Ringlet Ampithere, was initially caught by what at the time appeared to be a binding spell...and now with the odd behavior of Garnet's Ragamouse, Duskshadow is beginning to suspect that "appeared to be" might, perhaps, have been "actually was." That, coupled with the fact that Riddle, a Plague dragon, managed to bond with a Nature Coli Boss, and that fact that every snake familiar of the Clan seems to take an interest in him soon after its arrival, has Duskshadow convinced she needs to take a closer look at the Dark Mage's antics, and perhaps make some changes in when and how Riddle is allowed near any familiar, bonded or not.

The prospect of a dragon able to steal familiars--even those already bonded, and Awakened--is not a pleasant one. The Clan had enough trouble when Soulfire's Mock Firebird decided to run away...and that was by Fawkes' own choice. The thought of a familiar forced to leave his dragon is giving her nightmares.... Hmmm...Perhaps Nebula can help? She did entice Riddle to fall for her and give her two hatchlings, after all....

1-4-18: With all the troubles with Riddle (and not to mention Nebula's latest Love Potion attempt) that have been happening lately, it's always nice to have a little time to relax, and communicate with visiting dragons...

A rather bedraggled Snapper makes it to your Lair entrance, setting down a crate. "I'm so sorry for the delay. These blasted wings of mine aren't really good at traversing all of Sornieth!" Fuller smiles faintly, shaking her head.

"Hopefully, these are a good surprise to keep you warm as we head towards Ice Flight's Gala!"

Duskshadow smiles widely. "Why thank you! Soulfire was feeling a little down lately, but this will certainly cheer her up"

She waves her tail at a nearby Tundra, directing him to find the older Pearlcatcher and inform her that she has a nice surprise waiting for her in the caves. The Tundra happily gathers the crate up and deposits it inside the cave entrance on his way to seek out his Clanmate.

"And don't worry about the delay," Duskshadow adds as she turns back, "most of the Clan never bother to keep track of time very well anyway...well, except for knowing what Festival it is, of course." She winks, then cocks her head slightly, eyeing the other packages Fuller is carrying. "I would invite you into the caves for a bit, but I can see you have other deliveries to make...perhaps another time?"

And now Duskshadow herself is happier, as she watches Soulfire admire the new necklace, and gaze adoringly at that Phoenix Flame Bottle...

2-2-18: Duskshadow and her team are encountering some unusual problems at the Coli during the Crystalline Gala this year: Twilight’s magic unexpectedly started to attract every animal under the sun to want to play with her during their bouts. Fortunately, Moondust was able to help with a modified “Portkey Spell” that JKR and Norberta had created... ( )

7-25-18: And it looks like things at the Thundercrack Carnivale are beginning to, er, heat up, as Spell and Rune have decided to “persuade” Duskshdaow to join a beauty contest… ( ) … While they themselves explore the possibilities inherent in a certain lightning machine… ( )

7-26-18: Well, Duskshadow managed to avoid disaster...for now. And though she did not win the Beauty Contest, she did have a nice time at the Festival. Even better, while putting her usual bows and crown back on--and rescuing her rose from where Rune had thrown it--she had found a nice Daisy Lei lying nearby. It seems that Moondust had meant to give her an anniversary present, but forgot the time again. Well, better, er, a month late, then never, right?

7-28-18: And this rather interesting Event continues...with another issue. This time, the Clan's two oldest Bards thought that bringing Weather Magic onto the Shifting Expanse would be a good idea. Fortunately, Duskshadow managed to disabuse them of that notion before a magical storm started...
