Dragon Log:

An older dragon who wished to see the world, he traveled from Plague Flight in search of a Clan where he could rest with others of his kind--and enjoy the company of any interested females. Upon arrival at the Clan, he quickly discovered an affinity with certain Arcane foci stones, and several females who were more than interested….

2-3-15: After a little thought, he has chosen his name. None of the other dragons were very surprised by the choice...particularly since Jasper enjoys using Bloodstones for his foci for his magic.....

5-2-15: The arrival of the last day of the Wavecrest Saturnalia apparently put Bone in an extra good mood, even though neither he nor Jasper attended. The Steelhound has Awakened! Jasper is thrilled for his old friend, and Bone has not stopped barking in joy at his newfound energy since he woke up--much to the annoyance of several others in the lair. Perhaps Padfoot can settle him down?

6-12-15: Bone's barking subsided around the same time that Jasper began to take an interest in the female Coatls of the Clan, and joined their project. The somewhat jealous dog made it clear to all that he would not be ignored, butting his head in continually while Jasper tried to court the ladies. Despite this, however, there are one or two who seem interested....

6-20-15: Jasper was chosen to be a mate for one of the females of the Hatchery Project! He is ecstatic with his success, and eagerly watching over his nest, while Bone growls at anyone except Jasper's mate who even dares to look at the 2 eggs within. It seems that the Steelhound's jealousy has given way to a protective instinct for what belongs to his friend.....

6-28-15: Three days after hatching, Jasper's 2 young ones are growing well. Despite their pale coloring, they are actually quite strong, and eager to be full adults. In fact, Calixto was so eager, he has already headed off to his new home in Water Flight, where he was quickly befriended by a Scythe Kamaitachi.....

9-9-15: Recently, Jasper head that Calixto has found himself a mate, and now has three children...2 of whom now serve the Tidelord. Jasper is extremely proud of his descendants....

10-2-15: While out exploring, looking for new stones, Jasper found another kind of treasure entirely....and the Proto Manticore seems just as taken with him--for the moment...

12-29-15: The Night of Nocturne celebration seems to be a time for familiars to Awaken. There has been one almost every day--sometimes more than one--and now, apparently, it is the Proto Manticore's turn. Jasper is happy for his friend, but he still refuses to call him Sinew, no matter how much the stubborn little beast insists it works perfectly with Bone....

11-22-17: It is the time that the Woodland Turkey traditionally begins to wander in the Boreal Wood, and much to Jasper's chagrin, the spell to determine who should have the "honor" of looking like a Turkey during this time has chosen him! The rest of the Clan is quite amused. Ruth told Jasper that he thinks the old Coatl looks very "dashing." Jasper just hopes that the humiliation will be over soon...

12-3-17: Jasper was extremely ill pleased when complications and unexpected delays during the Earth Festival resulted in the "Turkey Spell" lasting much longer than it should have. Instead of the Woodland Turkey skin appearing on him until the end of November, it stubbornly held on for almost another full week! Fortunately, the spell has finally dissipated, much to Jasper's relief...

2-1-18: To the surprise of everyone, Jasper offered to enter the Sornieth Winter Games at the Crystalline Gala this year. He seems very determined for some reason... ( )

2-5-18: Jasper's team did not win the Curling Event, but they did not make a very bad showing of it, either. At least they weren't anywhere near last place...And best of all, no one has said a word about Turkeys, Special Skin Spells, or anything remotely connected to that horrible experience, in days...

2-23-18: To the shock of Jasper--and the whole Clan--the supposedly already bonded Bloodstone Beetle initiated a familiar bond with him today! Apparently, the Beetle had never actually bonded with the black and gold Pearlcatcher, but only hung around while waiting for Jasper to pass by. Fortunately, the Pearlcatcher is not at all concerned by this desertion--perhaps because the Beetle introduced him to a nice new Living Sculpture before he left. In the meantime, the Beetle is making up for lost time fast, and is already well on the way to becoming a beloved member of Jasper's unusual family...

4-24-18: The Bloodstone Beetle has Awakened! Jasper is happy for his odd friend, and the Beetle seems quite content with his now customary spot by Jasper's side. It seems that he won't be leaving to go anywhere else anytime soon...

10-2-18: The Clan thought that Fire surges were done, now that the Fire Festival was long past, but apparently not, as Jasper has now acquired a Conflagrant Halo of his own. It seems that whenever a mage attempts to focus their magic with unusual strength, the halos develop, perhaps as an after-effect--or after-image--of the magical energy expended? Whatever the reason, Jasper has now joined the list of dragons who has a magical halo to call his own....

11-4-18: The special Plague familiar this year caused a bit of controversy, as no less than 3 dragons tried to claim him. While Norberta dropped out quickly, deciding that she really didn't want a "Slytherin" familiar, Riddle attempted on several occasions to entice the Serthis to his side. For a time it seemed that he would succeed, and Jasper would once again miss out on his chance to have a shot at the Riot of Rot familiar. Duskshadow, however, had other ideas. Pointing out firmly that Riddle already had a special Plague familiar of his own, she gave Jasper first chance.

The Serthis studied the proud Coatl for several minutes, then nodded, and locked eyes with him...and the rest was, as they say, history. The Serthis has made one odd concession to Riddle, however: When asked his name, he informed Jasper that he rather liked the idea of being "Severus," the name that Riddle had been trying to use. No one is quite sure what this will mean in the future, but at the moment, at least, this familiar seems content with his choice.....

1-28-19: Jasper has decided to rejoin the Curling team at the Sornieth Winter Games this year, since he had such a surprisingly fun time last year... ( )

2-71-19: Severus has Awakened! Jasper is happy his friend has fully matured, and looking forward to what the creature will do now he is older...

2-8-19: Jasper got another pleasant surprise today, at the Awards Ceremony for the Sornieth Winter Games: It seems that the teams efforts at the Curling Event were even better than he had dared hope, and the team is coming home with the Bronze Medal! ( ) Jasper is satisfied with the results--and looking forward even more eagerly to next year, when maybe they can bring home the Gold...

1-30-20: The Crystalline Gala, and the Sornieth Winter Games, have returned for another year, and once again, the Curling Team has taken to the Pit. This year, they hope to bring home something better than a Bronze Medal. Unfortunately, Jasper is not feeling quite like himself--though he refuses to admit it--due to spending most of the night fighting the results of an extremely volatile experiment performed by another Clan Mate… ( )

2-2-20: After the mess back at the Lair, it is almost a relief for all those who competed in the Winter Games this year to indulge in the (relatively) simple task of breaking down camp while waiting for their results… ( )

2-7-20: Whether or not Jasper’s inability to see straight had an impact on the team’s score is now a moot point. The team was blown away by some very fierce competition, and simply could not make it to the Winner’s Podium this year. As disappointing as this fact is, Jasper knows that it was superior skill that beat them, not silly mistakes, and that makes the defeat a little easier to bear. There’s always next year, after all…

1-29-21: And next year--this year--was indeed, better. Much better. Though the team had a rocky start at the lists, with Alakazam going missing while searching for the brooms, and Nebula threatening to tear his head off if he returned too late, they managed to rally in the end--helped, no doubt, by that delicious cocoa that Al had brought back with him. ( ) In fact the team played so well this year that they won the Silver Medal! ( ) Perhaps the team should think about letting Alakazam supply them with cocoa every year, if this is the results they get? Certainly Al has earned the right to stand proudly on the podium, and accept the box of prizes that came with the medal on behalf of the whole team, and Jasper was quick to point this out when it came time to choose who would step forward. ( ) All in all it was an excellent year at the Games, and Jasper cannot wait for next year. After all, with both a Bronze and a Silver under their belts, it is only a matter of time before the team brings home the Gold…
