Dragon Log

The second born of Moondust and Duskshadow, Cosmos is a bit more thoughtful then his older brother, but also a bit more in the "here and now." He is generally aware of what is going on around him, even when he appears not to be. It's just that the stars are so much more interesting then anything happening down here.... but he is perfectly capable of responding when necessary to the world around him. Especially when someone tries to pull a prank, or run away with his stuff....

9-22-14: His Glowing Pocket Mouse Companion has awakened! Cosmos is thrilled, but he is also aware that his young friend is restless, and likely will not stay with him long....

And so it has proven to be the case. Almost as soon as he awakened, the mouse began exploring other areas of the clan. He found a young Hibernal Starbear, sleeping in the back of the lair, and lead him over to Cosmos. When Cosmos reacted well to this new friend, the mouse happily ceded his place and continued his explorations. The bear, Starrune, is just as happy, especially since Cosmos has such a large sleeping area...

It seems that today is a good day for "Arcane happenings".... Cosmos was enjoying the Starfall Celebration, wandering near the Festive Favors shop, when a friendly comet suddenly swooped down and began to orbit him. After several unsuccessful attempts to convince the magical body it had the wrong dragon, Cosmos gave up, paid Joxer the needed shards, and brought his extremely unusual companion home. Maybe he'll name it Haley....

9-30-14: While visiting the Observatory during the Starfall Celebration, Cosmos encountered an extremely flustered Skydancer, who had lost quite a few starcharts and desperately needed help cataloguing all the constellations… ( )

12-19-14: Starrune has Awakened! Cosmos is happy for his friend, and Haley is doing joyful loops in the air... though this could be out of the hope that the more aware and mature Hibernal Bear will no longer see him as a batting toy.....

2-15-15: Starrune, the Hibernal Starbear, has decided to take a short trip.... or perhaps he just wants to find a new place to nap? Regardless, he has wandered off for a bit. Cosmos is amused, but not concerned, as a Guardian certainly knows how to take care of himself. Shortly after Starrune left, a Perching Java Sparrow took up residence near Cosmos' preferred sleeping area--and has not left yet....

5-16-15: Even the most quiet familiars have hidden depths. The ever-present Perching Java Sparrow has provided a great deal of entertainment to Cosmos and the rest of the Clan--and given some beat pointers on how to amuse oneself when insomnia strikes. He has also been an excellent guard-bird. All in all, Cosmos is quite happy that the bird showed up and refused to leave.... and now Caff has Awakened! Cosmos is thrilled for his friend, and hopes that this will add even more levels to their relationship.....

9-28-15: During the 2015 Starfall Celebration, Cosmos chose to join his young and (at that time) Unnamed niece, Moonshadow's youngest daughter, and journey with the Arcanist into the stars--literally. Having had a fascinating trip, which included spells, strange planets, sentient plants and an unfortunate mishap with the ship's Hyperdrive, Cosmos and his niece have returned home safely, with tons of stories to tell....

2-24-16: Cosmos does not usually travel to any Festival except the Starfall Celebration, but this year he decided to check out the Trickmurk Circus, as well, since so many of the Clan were going. It has turned out to be a fascinating trip, and now he has found an odd pool full of strange items, 2 of which he has managed to snag to bring back to the Clan’s stores… ( )

7-20-20: Cosmos got a bit of a shock today, while playing with his familiar "family": The Clan's foremost Starry Ampelope, "Galaxy," usually Wary of every dragon in the lair, suddenly decided that she wanted to play "tag" with him. Cosmos was intrigued by the gentle nudges to his side, and so decided to indulge the pretty creature. One thing led to another, and somehow, in the middle of chasing his new friend all over the cave system, Cosmos realized that he was suddenly feeling a new familiar bond! Well, at least with a name like hers she'll fit right in...

10-18-20: Galaxy has Awakened! Cosmos is very happy for his friend, although he does wish she would not use her newfound energy to make the “tag” games even longer and more complicated. He does have to study the stars at some point, after all….
