Ptolemy
Ancient Cartographer - Ancient Runes

zjBeEJR.png

VgV7HPC.png
"Maps foresee everything that
can happen within a space."

Ptolemy is not, as his name implies, an actually cartographer, although many of his kind become so. He is surprisingly intelligent for a living object, capable of individual thought and speech. He has instinctual knowledge of the areas in the maps that make up his body and can learn new areas. Some Cartographers even go on to become mapmakers themselves, although they are unable to bring their own creations to life. Ptolemy is one of the Ancient Runes variations. He possesses more magical ability than his regular counterparts. He can even use his abilities in combat (most likely as a mage in the Coliseum if he ever gets the chance).

Ptolemy is able to produce limited magic; most of his magic goes towards sustaining his body, but is able to produce a little magic of his element. Cartographers are usually of the Light element, but others of every element have been known to exist, based on the area contained in their map.

Ptolemy is able to breed, due to the magic from which he is made. Cartographers often, but not always, produce more living maps, whose magic is inherited by the parent. These hatchlings are more fragile than the originals and cannot withstand harsh elements.
